Damn, and I was about to create the thread “Soup’s Greatest Wish Granted”. I was on the phone, you bastard!
I…dunno. I’m an advocate of continuity, but the only “wow” factor has been the ability to acquire draft picks. Using them on the other hand has produced guys like “Edward Scissorhands” Retardo Louis.
At this point, nothing really matters. The only real surprise is that they did it before the end of the season.
So, who do you guys think will replace him? Personally, I got nothing. Manning is the only name that comes to mind, and to tell the truth it seems unlikely. Then again, it’d be interesting to see if another QB (even one of the best ever) comes to Cleveland and doesn’t pan out.
They did it now because of the Giants. Had they not cleaned house they’d have waited. We have to be the most attractive due to those 2 1st round picks.
When you pick the likes of Corey Coleman, Deshon Kizer and Jabrill Peppers in the first two rounds, continuity in that department is pointless.
As I said in my game balls thread, the fact that Gordon was so superior to any offensive player they drafted tells the tale of Sashi ignorance.
Add that to the coaches having to fight for Garrett of Trubisky and it tells all you need to know.

We all saw this coming miles away. Sashi is amazing at clearing house and amassing picks. His team was not so good at player evaluation. He’s a guy you definitely want in the room, but not a guy you want to have all the power. I think the next GM, whoever it is, will have more success because of the decisions Sashi made.
I think the thing that killed Sashi was the WR position. Every receiver on this roster except Gordon was added by Sashi’s team. Every receiver on this roster except Gordon is absolute dogshit. Kenny Britt, Sammie Coates, Ricardo Louis, Corey Coleman, Rashard Higgins, Bryce Treggs. 6 swings, 6 misses.
One thing for sure; this is the most enticing GM position in the league by far. The bar is ridiculously low, we’ve got a ton of amazing picks for them to spend, and literally the only way to go is up.

I think Depodesta is out the door soon too. I’m wondering if in the meeting Sashi had with Haslam – if he was asked to relinquish final say and he refused.
