Allen has jaw dropping Potential. Barkley is worthy of a 10 10 pick and is a home run hitter of RB

IF you measure BPA by highest ceilings. I think an argument could be made for this 2.

That said running backs careers tend be short and Allen isn’t a sure thing….so this could be horrendous as well.

Please explain “huighest ceiling” in regards to a QB. I’ve yet to find someone who can explain what this means.

Kiper’s first mock draft is always ridiculous just so he generates discussion.

I love Allen’s backstory (no scholarship coming out of high school, worked his way up), but 56% scares the shit out of me. I know DS says it’s becuase he throws hard, but doesn’t that also indicate a lack of touch?

I haven’t looked into the qbs too deep yet though.

As for Barkley, I can’t see anyway he gets pass Indy, unless they sign a big name in free agency.

It means that if you take the mental aspect out of the game, Allen’s physical attributes are superior to the other QBs in his draft class such that, if all three were mentally equivalent, Allen would be the best based on his physical attributes alone. There is the belief that this also means the player has a higher chance of being successful in the NFL because he will be less likely to have to overcome physical deficiencies like height, arm strength, etc. It is why “checking the boxes” is so important to scouts.

It is also why being “coachable” and “situations” matter. 3 years on the bench behind a hall of famer with a QB Guru in your ear and you’re (potentially Aaron Rodgers. This is what Josh Rosen is saying when he talks about not necessarily wanting to be the #1 overall pick. He’s looking at long term success, not draft status.

I know DS says it’s becuase he throws hard, but doesn’t that also indicate a lack of touch?

It certainly could and that is a great question. My take away from the film is that he threw the fastball when he needed too. His WRs simply lacked the skill level to come away with the catch (Wyoming isn’t known for producing WR Talent). That same pass thrown to Calvin Ridley, Courtland Sutton or Marcell Ateman produces a much different result, in my opinion. While I think even NFL WRs will be challenged by a QB with ALlen’s arm strength (this kid can really whip the ball), historically they have been able to adjust better than college WRs (which is why I also posted Favre’s college stats that were nearly identical to Allen’s).

    818 mph. 13,723 feet. 3 second burn.

Not sure if Twitter links show up, but still, Ryan Leaf had the best possible response to his mock.

Being we are talking about “ceiling” and what I meant about it.

Well he has the must jaw dropping highlights I have ever scene from a QB prospect. He does Madden video game level shit on a regular basis.

Stuff that will have you jumping out of your chair yelling No F’ing way. Did you SEE that!?!?!?!

Is his ceiling mostly about his disgusting level of arm strength, touch and athletism while playing in a pro system.

    Yeah.

All the above said DawgStyle is a bit more sold on him than I am, as the kid is gonna need a lot of work at the next level. But his potential is ridiculously high.

Is this coaching staff the one to groom him? I haven’t a clue. Can the kid be groomed? I have no idea.
