mike barnesParticipantI’ve been thinking the same thing the cost of moving up from the Bills spots to #4 would require more than 21 and 22 possibly those two plus one of their two second rounders and their first in 19′ as well.

I agree on the more Draft picks being possibly used..But at a minimum it is 21&22.

Participant5 If I am correct then this the death knell for drafting Barkely which is fine by me. As league has shown you can get the same production by using RB by committe and it keeps your backs healthier.
Whether or not they want to trade back, Barkley at 1 is dead. If AJ McCarron was signed, you could make the argument that we want to see if he can be the qb of the future and draft somebody at 4. But with Tyrod, you know he’s not the qb of the fifties, and Kizer is gone so obviously he’s not either.
With no qb of the future on the roster, it’s painfully obvious we’re going to be drafting one, and he would get stolen if we wait til 4 to pick him. Dorsey knows this because he’s the one that moved up and stole Mahomes away from us last year.
So, to me, we’re definitely taking a qb at 1. As far as Allen is concerned, I really don’t think any of the moves they’ve made says anything about which qbs they’re interested in.

mike barnesParticipant#21 and 22 would not even get you close in terms of points equation, at least one of their second rounders and something in 19′. the point is this feels like there’s something here after all the bills as of right now have no QB and anything they sign in FA will not be a long term solution for them.

GABrownsFanParticipantThe Bills might be talking to the Colts or even the Giants for all we know.

They very well could, but I think the presence of our extra pick makes the Browns a more likely trade partner. It’s a though sell to be at the top of the draft and not get one of the top prospects, which is what the colts and giants would be doing. The Browns have the luxury of saying ok, we got our qb who’s the top prospect, and we’re going to trade back and pick up more future picks.
That would make us more willing to do a trade, where the other 2 might want a lot more or just not want to do the trade altogether. That said, the colts have so many holes, they absolutely SHOULD want to trade with the bills, but based on their history, I don’t think they will.

IceKeymasterI have zero doubt that the bills and Browns have a trade framework in place for the 4th pick. I also have no doubt that we have a framework with at least 2 other teams for that pick. The only question is do both sides pull the trigger?

DawgSoldierParticipantthe bils now have 12&22
4 for 12&22 straight up as floor wouldn’t be a bad deal. I like a little more but I could live with it especiaally if they throw in a 2018 2nd.
Anyways 1 QB 12 LT and 22 CB would be a very effective draft strategy IMO when comes to this class AND would address GLARING needs.
Thoughts?

mike barnesParticipantNow that the bills have 12,and 22 the move from 12 to 4 would only require 12 and a third according to the value chart, while I know some teams want to charge a ransome when a QB is involved there’s also the likely hood they just go to the colts instead.
