I agree, Mike. Hate to part with a third, but in this case, it was worth it.

I think a better question is would you rather have Tyrod for a 3rd or AJ for a 2 and a 3?
I’ve pointed this out before, but it bears repeating. Tyrod is a FA after this season. If we let him walk, he’ll at LEAST get 8-10 million somewhere as a high level backup qb, and as long as we play our cards right, we’ll get a 3rd or 4th round comp pick.
So really, it is NOT a 3rd for Tyrod. It’s a 2018 3rd for Tyrod and a 2020 3rd/4th.
Pretty cheap, really. Especially when you consider that we’re already going to adding about 10 rookies to the 30 we’ve drafted the past 2 years, and we’d be pretty served to spread those picks out a little bit anyway.
