Just saw it on PfT. His salary is $3 million this year and he’s 30.
To me, this is change for the sake of change, and I don’t see where it helps the team. I think this is Dorsey’s ego wanting his guys and not the guys he inherited.

Mccorty was really good last year. Dorsey doesn’t seem like the guy that wouldn’t do it without coaching approval. Just signed multiple corners including stealing the guy from the Raiders

Now Mary Kay Cabot is reporting the Browns are trading him and 7th for the patriots 6th.
So at least they’re getting something for him, but isn’t that a move jup of only 2 spots? Maybe it’s not the Browns and pats actual picks??

We’ve traded Jason McCourty and a 2018 seventh-round pick to the New England Patriots for a 2018 sixth round pickFreedom!!!
All GM’s when they take over a team tend to get their GUY’S except for real Core players whom the team couldn’t move foreward without. So cutting McCourty a 30 year old CB doesn’t bother me too much, just another signal that the Browns will probably draft at least one CB early at least one in round 2.
So instead of cutting McCourty, he was used to change a 7th rounder into a 6th rounder.
Seems like a good move to me
