Traded 3 second rounders to swap with Indy from 6 to 3.
Interesting move by the Jets considering that they just signed Teddy Bridgewater in FA and resigned McCown to a 1 year 10 million dollar deal.
March 17, 2018 at 11:36 am #11608DawgSoldierParticipantI don’t see the Giants moving, so I bet Buffalo will trade up to 4 to jump in front of Denver.

I had the same thought. Although Buffalo has plenty of ammunition to try to persuade the Giants to trade down.
March 17, 2018 at 11:54 am #11611DawgSoldierParticipantThe Ginats will want more than the Browns because the Browns have 2 picks in the top 5

March 17, 2018 at 12:05 pm #11612GABrownsFanParticipantThe Giants also would want more because they have the second pick vs. the fourth. It might be worth it to them to move up to take the second QB off the board, assuming we take one with the first pick. Depends how much they want to give up.
Yes, Shooter. I know you’re going to say that we’re taking Saquon first. LOL
March 17, 2018 at 12:21 pm #11614mike barnesParticipantWould the G-Men want to move down to #12 rather than take Barkley at #2 or A QB would the Bills give up Both 12 22 and maybe a second rounder? will the Browns pick at 4 be eaiser to obtain. Stay tuned !
March 17, 2018 at 12:21 pm #11615soupParticipantThis move makes zero sense. Why trade up to #3 a month prior to the draft when you don’t know who’s going #1 or #2?
Freedom!!!
March 17, 2018 at 12:42 pm #11616ShooterModeratorYes, Shooter. I know you’re going to say that we’re taking Saquon first. LOL
Ha! As long as you know.
Interesting to see who is going to be left at 4 now for the Browns to take. Clearly the Jets are there at 3 to take a QB. That leaves the Giants as the lone wildcard. Are they going to draft a QB for the future, or maybe even trade the pick to a needy (Buffalo) team that will? What QB’s are these teams going to take ahead of the Browns? Who is going to be left at 4 for us to grab? Could be any of them.
Word on the street is that Buffalo is enamored with Allen and the g-men are strongly considering Rosen. If this is the case, that would create a scenario wher ethe browns nab Saquan Barkley and Sam Darnold this year.
Who wouldn’t love that?
March 17, 2018 at 1:05 pm #11617IceKeymasterEven if Barkley makes it to us at 4, we won’t pick him there.
Lock it up.
March 17, 2018 at 1:52 pm #11619Dawg E. DawgParticipantEven if Barkley makes it to us at 4, we won’t pick him there.
Lock it up.Do I smell a triple down? WHATS LEFT TO WAGER!?? The HUMANITY!!
Lol, at any rate, for a trade down the Browns could be put of luck, because the Bills may not be interested in QB #4 off the board. Or they could get desperate, who knows. Though, you’d have to think either Denver or buffalo would be interested, and we could convince them that the other is also interested.
The great thing is, if we don’t trade down, we should have our pick of QBs AND our pick of other players. That’s just too good to pass up.
March 17, 2018 at 2:10 pm #11620mike barnesParticipantThe Bill’s are probably going to wait and see which QB or Qb’s are going to be their at #4 before they move chances are since the jets called the Browns and were told no they most likely called the G-Men and were also rebuffed that tells me either the Giants are going QB or Barkley at #2. If the Bills are hot for Allen and he’s gone would they move up for Mayfield?
March 17, 2018 at 2:28 pm #11622ShooterModeratorEven if Barkley makes it to us at 4, we won’t pick him there.
Lock it up.
Let me show you the possible draft scenarios for the Browns this year. There are 3, and only 3.
#1 Saquan Barkley and Sam Darnold
#2 Saquan Barkley and Josh Rosen
#3 Saquan Barkley and Josh AllenFeel free to go ahead and discuss which one of the 3 you like more than the others, but keep in mind that these are the only 3 choices that are available.
March 17, 2018 at 7:44 pm #11623mike barnesParticipantYes QB at #1 now if the bills blow us away with say 12,22, 65 and there #1 next year hell yes you take it the GM would be a fool not to, it’s too easy to find a quality RB in rounds 2 or three and having three 1st rounders this year could be huge say we got our QB at 1 then the OT from notre dame at 12 and say a CB like Oliver or Jackson at 22 and heck you could even use one of our seconds to trade up back into the first round to grab some other player the GM likes.

Lock it up.This! I doubt the Browns draft a RB and if they do it will be day 3. Thats Dorsey’s M O.

March 18, 2018 at 7:54 am #11630DawgSoldierParticipantAfter Jets blockbuster trade, Browns sitting pretty
“Things keep falling the Browns’ way. Finally. If the Giants do what other teams I speak to expect – draft running back Saquon Barkley or edge rusher Bradley Chubb – then Dorsey is going to be doing backflips while simultaneously eating steamed crabs and maybe sipping from an ice cold Natty Boh Crab Shack Shandy. Dorsey is already in line to land any quarterback of his liking with the first pick, then the Giants take a non-QB, the Jets take a QB, and you have to go through Dorsey to get ahead of the QB-needy Broncos to get the best of the top three passers still available (Josh Allen, Sam Darnold and Josh Rosen in some order). Oh, and Dorsey will have the Broncos (we’ve seen teams trade up a single spot to get their guy, like the Bears a year ago), Bills, Cardinals, and possibly Ravens to pick from. He’s always open for business and the value he gets for that fourth pick will be extreme. “All quarterback roads go through Dorsey now,” said one NFC executive. “He’s controlling that market now.”

March 18, 2018 at 10:20 am #11632the dudeParticipantI hope we don’t ruin Barkley’s career. With the current leadership, this team will never have more than 4 wins and his career will be over quicker than it even started.
Hue Jackson is a loser.

Feel free to go ahead and discuss which one of the 3 you like more than the others, but keep in mind that these are the only 3 choices that are available. In his professional career, John Dorsey has been a part of 27 drafts. He has drafted an RB in the first round exactly ZERO times. He has drafted an RB in the 2nd round only ONCE. Only 3 times has he drafted one in the 3rd round. Dorsey believes in finding RB’s in the later rounds.
Probably should have looked into that before making any bets @shooter. It will be a costly lesson for you!
March 18, 2018 at 12:29 pm #11635ShooterModeratorYeah well a #1 seed had never lost to a #16 seed in the NCAA tourney before, then UMBC shocked the shit out of Virginia and ended that little streak.
Streaks end and precedents are set every day.
Do you really think I’d stick my neck so far out on a limb if I wasn’t absolutely positive of what was happening? I’m not guessing here, or using logic to come up with a theory on what I think is going to happen. This isn’t conjecture on my part.
I’m flat-out telling you that this decision has already been made. It’s done. This is what they are doing. The Browns are getting the best player in the draft AND a franchise QB.
I don’t know how many different ways I can possibly explain this to you guys to get it to sink in.

There’s no need for caps lock, or the triple T on but…..I here what you’re saying. I hear it loud and clear. I get it.
It’s just that you’re wrong. I know things that you and Ice do not, and it’s really just as simple as that. Do you get that?
Maybe as your sig I’ll link to all these posts where you are so confidently wrong.
Okay. Just as long as you also agree to link to all of my “I told you so’s!” when you are destroyed as a person, fan, board owner and internet user when you are left slackjawed and stupefied over how I could possibly have known what was going to happen before it did 2-4 seconds after Barkley’s name is called by the Browns at 1.
The only thing that is actually in question is how long the Browns will take to hand in the card. 3 seconds? Wait the entire 10 minutes for dramatic effect? I’m more interested in that to tell you all the truth.
Who wants to take bets on it? How long til the browns turn in the Barkley card after they go on the clock at 1?
I say they wait til the very last second, just to be dicks.

March 18, 2018 at 8:21 pm #11651mike barnesParticipantConsidering how bad our QB situation has been since 99′ how can anyone feel that the Browns would pass up on a chance to draft the QB of their choice is beyond me. Say we do love Barkley and think we’d like Rosen at #4 then okay you’d get the RB of your dreams but then if jets or Giants take him then guess what your screwed don’t over think it QB at #1.

March 19, 2018 at 8:59 am #11656Dawg E. DawgParticipantI’m happy with telling the Jets to F off and staying at 1 and drafting a QB. BUT, if we passed on the opportunity to drop only 5 spots and pick up 3 2nd round picks just to pick a RUNNING BACK, I will be pissed.
March 19, 2018 at 10:03 am #11657mike barnesParticipantThe closer we get to draft day the more interesting this will become, the jets trading up to #3 so early not knowing which QB will be there is gutsy to say the least. If the jets want Rosen the Giants or Browns could screw their plans, if QB’s go 1,2,3 or 1 and 3 then our #4 pick becomes worth more than the Three second rounders the Jets paid to get #3.
March 19, 2018 at 10:06 am #11658IceKeymasterThe only rational reason the Jets moved up is to try to get Barkley. He’s a generational talent.

March 20, 2018 at 7:27 am #11672BillWunkleParticipantLet me get this straight. The Jets gave up 2 second round picks this year and a second next year to move up from 5th to 3rd; and some people are actually gullible enough to believe that they’re going after a running back? Child, please. Nobody gives up that much draft capital unless they’re going after a quarterback – period. The only question is: “Which one do they have their eyes on?”
It’s obvious that the Browns are going to take their QB first overall and not let the other teams from #2 & #3 determine who that will be. Then there’s the G-men. Eli Manning is 37 years old and they’ve already signed the best free agent LT in Nate Solder – and even overpaid in the process. Odds are that they’re not going to be in a position to draft Eli’s replacement next year, so they’d better take one this year and give him a year or two to learn under Manning. Again, the question: “Which one do they have their eyes on?” Now the argument could be made that the G-men want to load up for one last hurrah and take the running back, which is quite possible. However, I think it would be a bit irresponsible and short-sighted of them to not at least consider the long-term wellbeing of the franchise as a whole and the quarterback position in particular.
So . . . with the very real possibility that there could be two quarterbacks already off the board by the time the Jets are on the clock, they have to be of the mindset that they’ll be comfortable with any of at least three of them. Of course, come draft day, they’ll say that they got the one they wanted all along in an attempt to save face.
Am I going mad, or did the word THINK escape your lips? You were not hired for your brains, you hippopotamic landmass!

Apparently Mike isn’t the only one who has aged out of sarcasm… hence the eyeroll at the end of my post about moving up for an RB. Also the rest of your post is clearly wrong, because @shooter has information that the Browns are taking Barkley 1st overall so the Jets actually will get their 2nd choice at QB. Clearly. Right Shoots?
Also that last part was sarcasm.

March 20, 2018 at 1:18 pm #11680BillWunkleParticipantHere are the G-men’s options . . .
*Stay @ #2 and take a QB.
*Stay @ #2 and take Saquon Barkley.
*Stay @ #2 and take Quenton Nelson to finalize the O-line.
*Trade #2 . . . maybe to BUF for #12 & a boatload of picks.You either . . .
*Get the team’s QB of the next era.
*Get an elite RB to take the load off Eli.
*Solidify the O-line to protect Eli.
*Load up with picks and pray that you’re right.Am I going mad, or did the word THINK escape your lips? You were not hired for your brains, you hippopotamic landmass!

March 21, 2018 at 10:06 am #11702mike barnesParticipantNo shooter Barkley to the jets makes sense if they think it would give them a dynamic threat like Dallas has in Zeke, Nelson also makes sense so Eli stays upright more often. if and I mean only if they take either one then our pick at #4 becomes like the golden ticket in Willy Wonka a bidding war for the Bills Cards and Broncos.
