WRT my bet with Shooter, there’s only one player that makes me worry I might lose. It’s not Barkley, and it’s certainly not Allen. The only other player who might be in play at #1 overall IMO is Mayfield. I think there’s a 10% chance we take him first overall, and an 89% chance we take Darnold if we stay put.
Mayfield only has 2 negatives; his height and his immaturity. Just about every analyst says that if he were 3 inches taller he’d be the no-brainer #1 overall pick. How important are those 3 inches? How good would Tom Brady or Peyton Manning be if they were 6′ tall? I dunno.

But yeah, clearly 6-0 to 6-3 is a big big difference. But, guys like Brees and Wilson show that it’s clearly not defining or necessary.

Last big 12 Heisman winner. RG3You know what I take out of that? Big 12 QBs are made of glass. Yikes! That’s a lot of injuries combined.
