Wonderlic Scores For QBs Have Been Released, Josh Allen Murdered The Field
The wonderlic test scores for the top quarterbacks in the 2018 NFL draft have been released, and Josh Allen was well above everybody else.
The scores are as follows, according to NFL scout John Middlekauff:
Josh Allen 37
Josh Rosen 29
Sam Darnold 28
Baker Mayfield 25
Lamar Jackson 13A wonderlic score doesn’t determine everything, but it’s a bit surprising that nobody even got close to Allen. He’s none points above second place, and he nearly tripled Lamar Jackson’s embarrassing 13. How do you score a 13? Did his pen run out of ink? Totally unacceptable.
Also, very surprised not a single one of them was able to crack a 40. After all, I scored a 47 when I took the practice version of the test. You’d think at least one of the top five quarterbacks would be able to get near an internet blogger. I guess that’s just too high of an expectation these days. Sad!
Overall, this really shouldn’t change much. The Browns are almost certainly still taking Darnold first overall. It’s highly unlikely they see these wonderlic scores, and all of a sudden drop Darnold in favor of Allen. It’s not going to happen.

He’s been steadily improving over the off season, and I am completely convinced that he will be the next “how did everyone miss this, all the signs were there” once in a generation type QB prospect. I pegged him early on as a prospect to watch, now I’m making my prediction. Regardless of who we take, I’m here to tell you Josh Allen is going to be a bonafide stud in the NFL. There might be more than one in this draft (hell, there might be three or four), but as it was with Mahomes, I am completely sold on this kid. I’m not saying we will draft him, but we should.

Secondly the correlation between Wonderlic scores and NFL ability even at QB is non-existent. The league is actually starting to use a different test that has a strong correlation.
Word around the league is that Allen struggled mightily at the whiteboard in team interviews, but one QB stood out; Baker Mayfield. Apparently his recall and ability to diagnose were amazing. Darnold and Rosen did very well but Mayfield stood out.
Lastly, you’re not gonna get very many comments on this thread because of the title. After my little practical joke people are going to think that “Allen charged with murder” is another April fools gag that’s too stupid to even click. I almost passed it up until I saw you were the author. 🙂
