October 29, 2018 at 12:00 pm #14014ShooterModeratorI can confirm that
October 29, 2018 at 12:01 pm #14015soupParticipantAny rujmors on who the interim will be yet? I’m hoping it’s not Haley or Williams. My dream is still the guy I originally wanted – Lovie Smith.
Freedom!!!
October 29, 2018 at 12:07 pm #14016ShooterModeratorIt’s looking like Haley.
October 29, 2018 at 12:12 pm #14017DawgPoundDudeParticipantDamn, now Dude is gonna have to change his signature.
October 29, 2018 at 12:15 pm #14018MDP Sack AttackParticipantWeird fact, the Steelers have gotten our last five coaches fired after we played them for the second time in a season.
As for Hue, meh. I hate instability but dude sucked so whatever. Our team is and has been pretty talent deprived, but there’s no excuse for our record these past few years, nor our regression as this season has gone on.
October 29, 2018 at 12:20 pm #14019Dawg E. DawgParticipantHad to happen. It was inevitable.
Now Dude, please please PLEASE for the LOVE OF GOD stop trolling the board with “Hue Jackson is a loser.”
October 29, 2018 at 1:01 pm #14020the dudeParticipantDorsey wanted him fired last week.
I may like Dorsey after all.
Fuck Loser Hue
Hue Jackson is a loser.
October 29, 2018 at 1:02 pm #14021DawgPoundDudeParticipantLooking like Al Saunders is going to be interim. Names that have come up in the college ranks are Lincoln Riley (of course) and Matt Campbell from Iowa State (a local boy).
Not gonna say I didn’t want to see this pan out for Hue, but it’s been clear that he isn’t a very good head coach. That said, this vacancy sucks, both because our season effectively ends, but more importantly, who’s going to want to run a team that fires coaches as much as quarterbacks?
This team has talent, but we need the right guy to do something with it. Why the hell can’t we get that right?
October 29, 2018 at 1:03 pm #14022ShooterModeratorNow Dude, please please PLEASE for the LOVE OF GOD stop trolling the board with “Hue Jackson is a loser.”
Maybe his sanity will return now that Hue is gone.
I was all for keeping Hue this year, but when Haley came aboard I really thought that was going to seal his fate and it did.
I almost feel bad for whoever they name interim coach, because they’re gonna get freight trained by KC in their first game lmao.
October 29, 2018 at 1:15 pm #14028IceKeymasterYou can cross Haley off the list, he’s gone too.
Looks like they’re following @Soup’s advice and just firing everyone.
October 29, 2018 at 1:18 pm #14032soupParticipantYou can cross Haley off the list, he’s gone too.

October 29, 2018 at 1:19 pm #14034IceKeymasterDorsey gets his wish; full control. He’ll pick his own HC and OC.
BTW this season is now just as inconsequential as the past 10 have been. No reason for the players to try hard anymore.

The defense was getting no help what so ever by the offense.
Hue Jackson is a loser.

October 29, 2018 at 1:33 pm #14040the dudeParticipantGreat day for the Browns. Great day.
Hue Jackson is a loser.
October 29, 2018 at 1:36 pm #14041mike barnesParticipantYes this needed to be done, now we all have to wait and see who Dorsey picks the easiest transition for baker on offense would be his college coach Lincoln Riley.
October 29, 2018 at 1:39 pm #14042IceKeymasterPlayers get the money as long as they play. Effort doesn’t matter and there’s no reason for the team not to tank. You fire the HC and OC in the same day and you’ve given up on the year. Time to play the rookies.

Not if Al Saunders is still with the team.
October 29, 2018 at 1:43 pm #14044the dudeParticipantSeason was already in the trash Ice. You really think after the last two weeks of bombs some how they were still playoff bound? This is a really good thing.
Dorsey just said he doesn’t give a fuck who you are. This team is going to win. If you dont do your part, get the fuck out of here.
Hue Jackson is a loser.
October 29, 2018 at 1:43 pm #14045the dudeParticipantFYI Saunders is being consider the reports are saying.

You mean like:
Ward
Harrison
Ratley
MayfieldOh, wait, they are playing. Effort effects future contracts. Reality? Win 8 in a row and we are 10-5-1. We have 3 division games left

Considered to be fired?
October 29, 2018 at 2:00 pm #14052the dudeParticipantConsidered as being head coach. Some outlets were already saying this. The organization spokesperson said it is being considered.
Team and staff meeting at 2. Press conference at 4:30
Hue Jackson is a loser.
October 29, 2018 at 2:08 pm #14056IceKeymasterSaunders is loved by the staff and the players, he’s the only one I can think of that would stop a player revolt. Could Gregg Williams take orders from Al Saunders? I dunno.

Garrett questioned the scheme. Thought it was bad. He’s losing the defense.

October 30, 2018 at 9:00 am #14084BillWunkleParticipantWell . . . According to the press conference, Gregg Williams is the interim head coach and will continue in his role as defensive coordinator.
The first two seasons with Sashi Brown really put Hue behind the 8-ball because the cupboard didn’t have to be stripped down that severely. There were still a number of draft picks that Sashi missed on, which only hindered anything that Hue wanted to accomplish even greater.
The unfortunate truth is that head coaches are hired to be fired someday down the road. Few and far between are the head coaches that get to go out on their own terms. As great of head coaches as Paul Brown, Tom Landry, and Jimmy Johnson were, they both were fired – Jimmy twice. The NFL often times stands for “NOT FOR LONG”, and yesterday’s actions help prove that point.
Am I going mad, or did the word THINK escape your lips? You were not hired for your brains, you hippopotamic landmass!
October 31, 2018 at 8:51 am #14103IceKeymasterI think the plan was to tank the last two seasons. That plan was enforced at the GM level by removing key players from the team so no matter how much the coach fought at the end of the day it would be virtually impossible for him to win. This season is really the only thing Hue should be judged on. Frankly this team should have a better record than it does. The offense has COMPLETELY regressed especially in the past 3 weeks. And if the HC and OC have a terrible working relationship then a change needs to be made.

I cannot just overlook the last two season with Hue. I could overlook the win/loss record if it was just based on inferior talent, but it wasn’t. He has a record dating back to Oakland of losing close games, and that contributed heavily to 1-31.
Furthermore, Sashi and Hue came out and said they would be leaning a little on Hue’s football knowledge, where Sashi was lacking. With that in mind, Hue bears some of the blame for drafting out of Carson Wentz, for picking Corey Coleman, Shon Coleman, Cody Kessler, and DeShone Kizer, and for getting leap frogged and having Goff and Mahomes stolen.
What about switching DC’s after his first year? Are we just letting Hue off for that?
Hues great at deflecting blame, but at the end of the day, it’s not everybody else’s fault that he has the worst record in NFL history outside of an owner/coach from the ‘30s.
November 1, 2018 at 8:56 am #14122IceKeymasterI don’t disagree with much that you said there. The draft picks were awful, but none of us know how involved Hue was in that process.
I put 0-16 squarely on Sashi’s shoulders because he purposefully built a team that was noncompetitive in the NFL. That was his goal and he accomplished it. I’m not giving Hue an excuse by saying that, I’m just saying that it’s impossible to judge him on that season.
But the record thus far this season falls squarely on Hue’s shoulders and with the roster we have we should be better. Also he and Haley working against each other in the media is completely unacceptable. Both were secretly feeding the media items to undermine the other and that is unforgivable.
