    That entire list is depressing.

I don’t know that any of those guys are better than what we have except maybe a DT and Clowney. If that’s what free agency has to offer this year I’ll pass.

    That entire list is depressing.

Why is that? IMO there are upgrades to ne had accross the defense via FA. Offense on the other hand not so much.

BTW I used the Sportrac Free Agent tool to geneerate this list if anyone is curious.

    Why is that?

Because everyone on it save for Clowney is a scrub, and we don’t need Clowney.

Wow, I guess we simply disagree. I see young guys that have produced on other teams that would be upgrades and or depth upgrades to what the Browns have on D.

Not that he is going to be available. But if he is hes’s not an upgrade over Ogbah that would be trasformative to whole defense?

I honestly don’t get where you are coming from.

I don’t know what to tell you. Ice nailed it, none of those guys are better than what we already have. That leaves me at a shoulder shrug on the whole thing.

Sure, getting some depth is always fine and all, but the reality is when you go jumping into the Free agent Pool you’re looking to make a splash. There’s no big names on that list. No one to make a splash with. Meh.

Do you want me to tell you that Corey Littleton is awesome? Cause that isn’t gonna happen. That’s not exciting to me. That’s where I’m coming from.

You never know with free agents. You need em for depth though and although I wouldn’t spend on any of the big names you can ALWAYS find improvements.

Hell, we signed Greg Robinson after he cleared waivers and he’s been doing a hell of a job.

Carlos Hyde was scoring a lot of TDs but Chubb producing and Todd Haley / Hue Jackson continued to give Hyde the bulk of carries before Dorsey traded him.

Mitchell is another. Was really tearing it up before his injury.
He joined the Browns in March as an unrestricted free agent, rose the ranks and landed a starting job midway through training camp. He recorded 19 tackles, one interception, three passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery before going down with the injury. He came off IRvbefore the Carolina game. The defense took a hit when he went down.

TJ Carrie has been a mixed bag butca lot of his penalties are BS in my opinion.

My point is you can find some players in free agency that are indeed improvements and will help the team. Maybe even get lucky and find another gem like Mitchell $10M/3yrs).

Did account for grady jarret? Who is very simular to ogunjobi and having a slightly better year tackles and sacks wise 47 tackles, 6 sacks & 3 FF vs 45 tackles 4.5 sacks & 0 FF

Stats don’t tell the whole story of a DT. Ogunjobi is playing phenominally this year.

Anyone looking for superstars in FA needs to get a reality check, however there might be some good pick ups for depth look how Dorsey added Perriman and Robinson maybe not world beaters but who knows about next season I mean at least Robinson is way better than the rookie he replaced and Perriman is producing as well as say Ratley or Willies would have done just chill out and see what Dorsey does.

True but they are benchmark. Jarretts 3 forced fumbles would go real nice on a D that likes to take away the ball though.

There are plenty of years where there are some really big name players hitting FA, this just happens to not be one of those years.

If Clowney hits the open market someone is gonna open up a brinx truck for him

This list is also VERY preliminary. I think it only includes people in the last year of their contract. Most of the good players to hit free agency are guys that get released.

What Ice said. Plus, there’s always a diva player or two who demand trades…if there’s a great WR who does that, I’m at the point where I’d trade a decent pick.

Personally I thought I brought a list of potential Obenjobi’s, schoberts and mitchells with the exception of cloney.

Obviously there is disagreement on this.

Another list I thought about trying to make is a potential trade list a la camie collins tyrod taylor jarvis landry and damerius randall.

But I have no idea how to approach that.

Are you trying to come up with a scenario where you trade all of these players, or are you just currently like the Regulators in Young Guns and have done a shit ton of peyote and are currently invisible because you’re in the spirit world?

I swear to Christ I hope you fuckin’ did Peyote dude.

You’re the one on the peyote. We traded for all the players he mentioned. He’s talking about potential people we target and trade for. Not trade those people on the list he brought up

    Soup’s correct, Shooter on Peyote.

Anyways Yeah I am not sure how one would go about compiling a list of young players that might be traded for…?

If you figure that one out, some NFL team might hire you.
