Consider Haley. He’s a moron and we experienced it first hand. Then consider the source. A nobody. Then consider all Ben had to do was ignore Haley and kneel but he chose to fumble? Um, no.

Now consider Jesse James left for Detroit and commented the drama was ridiculous and the AB trade had to happen

Ben is an arrogant, entitled, selfish egomaniac so I consider this to be absolutely plausible.

    1. I accept your premise that Haley is a moron. He’s just the kind of moron to call a running play up 10 with a minute left instead of kneeling. Very plausible.
    2. Ben could either ignore Haley’s playcall (which other people on the coaching staff would have heard) and get reamed for blatantly disobeying a coach, or he could just mess up the play to ‘teach Haley a lesson’. Which sounds more like the entitled brat we all know Big Ben to be? Very plausible.
    3. You’re intimating that Harris would completely make up this story just to make news, when it is simple just to go back and look at the play and see if the FB had no idea a ball was gonna get shoved his way. I find it much more likely that the story is true.

As I stated, it wasn’t intentional

That’s a good job by you Soup. Bonus points for using former Brown Bruce Gradkowski as your evidence.

Fun fact… According to Joe Thomas Gradkowski was the most liked QB he ever worked with. Everyone in the locker room liked him, but they all agree he’s better off on the sidelines ‘eating sunflower seeds’ than on the field.

I attended the University of Toledo the same time Bruce was there. Most likeable guy and a real competitor.

Who was the qb that Joe Thomas introduced himself to in the huddle?

Soup, for real though, why are you defending Big Ben?

He’s an asshole. Let us keep thinking that. Pile on even. Come on bro.

Hey, me too! Just my freshmen year, 05, overlapped with Bruce though. Never met him. The guy after him was the opposite. No talent, and kind of an asshat.

Anywho, Josh Johnson is who your thinking of that Joe introduced himself to. Classic story.

Fake shit annoys my. Maurkice and Mike Pouncey went in the same thread and tore Harris a new one for being a moron and making that lie up.

Lying about Ben won’t make him play bad.

Where’s the proof that he’s lying? Bruce’s explanation is basically that Ben should have reversed out to avoid getting in the fullbacks way, but he forgot.

He has no more proof that Ben forgot to reverse out than Harris has proof that it was intentional, unless I’m very much missing something.

Lol I was wondering… Thanks for clarifying. I went to the Tampa Bay – browns game when Bruce was suppose to start…. But he was bumped when one of their other qbs came back.

Soup is a closet stealers fan. The sooner you realize it, the more you will understand why he post the garbage that he posts on here. There’s pictures of him making out with Aaron keisel all over his Facebook page.

Find the thread. Find the comments from the Pounceys. Believing a guy like Josh Harris is laughable. Where’s his evidence? Rolled eyes in the huddle? Bruce even said after that incident they added the word “slant” to that play all to make sure the QB knew where the FB was located.

If, and big IF, what Harris is saying is true, then it stands to reason Bens “story” would be that he forgot where the FB was, and Haley would add the word slant so it doesn’t happen again.

I agree though, Harris has no proof that it was intentional. And it were an other comparable QB (Brady, Brees, Rodgers, Rivers, Ryan, etc) I wouldn’t give the story a second thought. But this kind of fits the narrative about Ben, doesn’t it?

Josh Harris career stats. 5 games with 9 carries for 15 yards. They signed Ben Tate for the playoffs because Harris was useless. He’s a guy trying to get fame from it and it’s working.

His playing time and talent mean nothing in this situation. The argument against him would be the same if it were Le’Veon Bell: that he’s making it up for attention.

But consider this, he’s remembered this play for 4 years. You don’t hold onto something like that just to MAYBE get a little attention down the road. You hold onto it because it pisses you off.

And honestly, the counter argument is that a HOF QB forgot the guy behind him was going to shift. He forgot his responsibility on this play, where it’s crucial that he hand the ball off and not turn it over. Seems unlikely at best.

Unlikely? Why? Mistakes happen like that quite a bit. Harris is insinuating he fumbled on purpose to recover so they could kneel. A ball can bounce wherever off a FB. I’m sure that’s an easy play for Josh to remember. He played in a grand total of 5 NFL games.

Mistakes like that don’t happen “quite a bit.” During the regular flow of the game? It happens occasionally. On potentially the last play of the game when you’re up by 10? That almost never happens.

And josh didn’t insinuate anything. He flat out stated that Ben intentionally fumbled. He never stated that Bens plan was to recover the fumble, or that Ben cared at all whether they recovered it. He just stated that Ben initially fumbled it. And if you watch the video, Bens less than graceful attempt to turn around once he “realized” the ball had been fumbled could be a pathetic fake.

I don’t know why you brought up Harris’s career again. It doesn’t matter hw many games he played, he still has first hand knowledge of that situation.

As I said before, he could be making it all up, but if it were any other HOF caliber QB, this story would be unbelievable. Seriously, tell me the last time you heard a story like this about a high profile qb? There have been issues in Pitt for the last half dozen years at least, and Ben is the one common denominator.

You’d believe anything Harrisbsays. Harris is basing it off an eye roll. The end. Multiple other guys stated this is untrue, but you believe the guy who made it up. Why? Why’d I bring up Harris career again? Because you stated he remembers that one specific play as if that means something from a guy on the field for 5 games

You have a reading comprehension issue. How does “he could be making it all up” translate to “I’d believe anything Harris says” in Soupese? Get it through your head that Harris isn’t the one that makes this plausible. Bens reputation as an asshat rapist is what makes it believable.

And the “multiple other guys” are limited the guy whose nuts Ben was fondling on that play, and his twin brother. I’m sure they’re real impartial.
