Wunkle, if you needed a QB in this draft and had the 1st overall pick in this draft would you take Murray?
Because I wouldn’t.
Quite frankly, Ice, Kyler Murray scares the living $h!# out of me. Not just because of his lack of physical size, but also the fact that he’s only a one year starter. He may prove me wrong with Cliff Kingsbury’s offense, but I’m still not totally convinced that he’s got the frame to take the pounding of NFL size linemen and linebackers. He’s going to have to prove that he can beat NFL defenses with his arm and not with just his legs. That was a “who I think they’ll take” pick, not a “who they should take” pick. There can be a huge difference between the two.

Bill, does Haskins concern you at all regarding the fact that he’s also a one-year starter? I’d take him over Kyler, though for sure.
I think NFL teams should wake up and realize that the more seasons someone starts in college the better QB they’ll be. At the very least, you’ll have a much better idea whether or not they’ll be a good QB.
It concerns me to a point, but I’ve seen more live game action of Haskins than any other QB in this draft. He’s got all the traits you want in a QB, except for escapability from a pass rush.

And when it’s all said and done, it could be that either Daniel Jones or Will Grier could end up having better NFL careers because they’ll be given an opportunity to develop before being thrown to the wolves.
