Sadly, Baker looks terrible out there. Soup probably likes him because he looks like Charlie Frye. Shooter has given up his podcasts because he can’t talk about Baker because it would destroy any credibility he would have since he chatted him up as Hof talent.

Way too early. Baker has some issues but you don’t give up on a QB so quick. The things I see that are wrong can be corrected.
Patience is required.
End of last year he proved he has the skills to be a stellar QB, so what changed?
1. Ryan Lindsey is now his QB coach. It’s his first year in the NFL as a QB coach.
2. He threw 20 TDS in the red zone and 0 ints. What changed? Al Saunders designed all red zone schemes last year. This year he’s no longer with the team.
3. Last year Bob Wylie designed all the protections. This year he’s no longer with the team.
4. Last year, Todd Haley’s playbook. They chose plays that suited Baker with quick reads. This year? Monken and Kitchens playbook. Monken designing passing plays is like Oprah Winfrey “you get a vertical route and you get a vertical route, everybody gets a vertical route!”
5. Todd Haley Oc fired, Kitchens OC, now Monken OC. 3 different OCs in 1.5 years.
QB is the toughest position to play in the NFL. That’s a lot of changes to go through and we’ve downgraded all over in that coaching realm surrounding him. Don’t throw him out as he has the skills, being in proven commodities on the coaching front to move him in the right direction

I refuse to give up on the QB that set the record for TDs thrown by a rookie in just 13 starts after 8 games against the hardest schedule in the NFL.
There’s a pretty good article on NFL.com about how Baker, while he hasn’t played well, has also been in the some of the worst passing situations of anybody in the league, in terms of down and distance to go. Much of that is due to penalties penalties penalties.
