MDP Sack Attack
ParticipantEveryone seems to find that one player in the preseason who catches their eye, and you inevitably root for them.
Mine is EJ Bibbs. I hadn’t even heard of him until today. But that dude is huge, looked quick in making his cuts, and looks to have great hands. With McCown and Manziel, our tight ends will be crucial, and he looks like a potentially great athletic one. I hope to see more of what that big frame can do in the blocking game.
Who are your “preseason picks”?

ParticipantHonestly, this is the least I’ve ever paid attention to the team because of how awful it is. I won’t watch any preseason games. Don’t want to waste my time. Looking at stats from yesterday the new OC will be worthless. Just like he stated we will throw a bunch of short passes. It’s going to be dinkland. We averaged 4.4 YPA. Not one guy got to 7. I thought we’d have a shot beating the Jets, but now that Smith broke his jaw they just got better. I see 1-15 and a whole new team again next year with new coach and GM

KeymasterSolomon at LB is my dark horse. The guy is always moving and is exceeding expectations IMO.

ParticipantI am rooting for Johnny Manziel. Long shot I know. But I will root for him. Would be a good turn around story.
Hue Jackson is a loser.

ParticipantWith the way our team is being built (tough defense and pound the rock), if Manziel can develop into a league-average passer this year while using his legs enough to keep the defense off guard, it will be a huge win for this team. It would take quarterback out of the “need” column and leave it as something we could upgrade if the situation arises. He’ll need to find the arm strength that went missing last season, and minimize mistakes.

KeymasterI would be thrilled if Manziel could turn it around. It would just be amazing to not have to worry about the QB position. Remember the last time we weren’t worried about QB? You may not, because many people weren’t born then. In fact anyone who was already born the last time Cleveland had a reliable QB is at least old enough to drink legally. That’s how long it has been.
