Browns cut Lenz today. Hartline was pissed, saying ‘the front office never asks the vets who they want with them’.
Well, if we aren’t letting the players decide who is on the roster, I guess there’s one thing The Browns can do better than the Cavs.
Hopefully we can stash Lenz on the practice squad, and hopefully Hartline can cool it on twitter.
Mayle was cut too. Cutting a 4th round pick the year you drafted him says a lot about the current front office. Obviously it means we made a mistake drafting him, but it also means this team truly doesn’t care how you got here, it’s how you perform. That’s a sign that the front office believes their jobs are safe which is a good thing IMO

You think it is a good thing that cutting a 4th round pick before practice camp is over that these guys should feel their job is safe?
I know Vince Mayle was terrible in the preseason. That is not the statement we should be looking at. Vince Mayle cannot help that he is really bad. Its in his genes. However, it should not be in our front offices genes to draft terrible talent.
Now I sit here and I read how second year Terrance West is a cancer in the locker room, terrible front office nightmare, and how he is a bomb waiting to implode outside of the team. The classic Browns press release.
I wonder if our scouting department even talks to guys before they draft them. Two first round picks last year who most likely won’t be starters again.
