April 24, 2020 at 2:01 am #18862BrownsFan4LifeParticipantWe made that pick very quick. That tells me that the Browns had no doubt on who they wanted. In reading various articles, I see that Joe Thomas talked to Wills before the draft and then after we drafted him. He told Wills he could have his number and he will be helping him to learn the position.

Not bad having a future hall of famer mentoring you. I love the pick. Wills is a beast.
April 24, 2020 at 6:28 am #18864soupParticipantI don’t know anything about the player because I haven’t really cared at all this year. That said, I give them an A for actually taking the most needed position in the draft and Joe Thomas raves about him. Impressive day 1.

Go ahead and keep preaching we should throw 40 times a game and let “the game” dictate your plan rather than imposing your will on the opposition

Who are you talking to? I know you’re not talking to me because I’ve never said that.

I’m shocked and impressed with the pick. Yes I’m complimenting their day 1 pick

April 24, 2020 at 12:49 pm #18873IceKeymasterSorry Soup, you’re not allowed to like the pick. I was first and said I like it, and you know that by law we are not allowed to agree.
April 24, 2020 at 2:35 pm #18874MDP Sack AttackParticipant“Last season’s totals included nine hurries, four hits and the lone sack of his career in 450 pass-blocking snaps. That gave him a pressure rate of less than 4.0 percent for the second straight season, according to Pro Football Focus.”
Sold.
April 24, 2020 at 6:49 pm #18876BrownsFan4LifeParticipantSome interesting comments but way off base (that means you Soup). Ice has never ever said we should throw that much.
There is a law that prohibits agreement between Ice and Soup. I am not sure what the kangaroo court punishment is for breaking this law but maybe the rest of us can discuss it.
Analytics is just another form of evaluation and not a be all end all. The more information you have at the better equipped you are to make an informed decision. The Browns front office has been saying this from day one.
Andrew Berry has said Wills was his number one tackle in the draft and I really have no reason not to believe him. The Browns didn’t hesitate to make this pick. It was so fast that it may have been the quickest selection ever in the top 10 of the first round.
Day 2 will tell more of a real story though. We still have plenty of needs (LB, Safety and DL and possibly a WR). Hell, they could even go after a RG but I wouldn’t expect that today but imagine if they did. Our OL would be outrageous but even fetuses in the womb know the Browns need defense.
April 29, 2020 at 9:29 am #18955BrownsFan4LifeParticipantWell, Wills won’t be wearing number 73. Kevin Stefanski said he can’t have that number so Wills will be wearing number 71 and said he is going to start his own legacy.
April 29, 2020 at 9:37 am #18956IceKeymasterGood. 73 belongs to one man, and one man only.
