I can’t imagine we’d be able to keep it together financially past this season, but if we kept Vernon and signed Clowney…that line would be stacked as fuck. Just based on our ability to rotate athletic linemen in and out during drives, opposing offensive linemen would be exhausted.

I’d feel a lot better about our linebacker situation as well.

From what I have read/gleaned Clowney wants a multi year deal. The Browns and others are offering 1 year prove it deals.

The Browns offer has the most money as they have the space. But Clowney is playing the wait and see game.

Yeah,. hopefully nobody blinks and gives him a long term deal so we can snag him on a big one-year contract.

We have too many of our own free agents in the next couple years to do much more.

I have read many different articles and they all say it was for the most money. They don’t say if it was a one year or multi-year deal.

Maybe they only offered a between a 1-3 year deal and he wants a 5 year 90 million dollar deal. Who knows, the truth might come out.

If Berry offered Clowney a one-year “prove it” deal, that’s fine. His stats have not matched up to the talent of a top five draft pick. Let him earn his money and deal with any consequences next year.

Am I going mad, or did the word THINK escape your lips? You were not hired for your brains, you hippopotamic landmass!

Clowney is in fact living up to his name if he doesn’t take the Browns offer. It’s a one year prove-it deal and we’re gonna pay him the most money.

He needs to get over the fact that he’s not gonna get paid what he wants. He wants to get paid like a 15-17 sack guy and he’s never even been a 10 sack guy.

Is he a good player? Yes. Is he a dominant force that should be paid like the elite? Sweet Jesus no. Take our money, go be a beast, and if you’re as good as you think you are the money will come. If you have another year like you did in Seattle, get ready for a bunch of low-level deals that are appropriate to your production. Period.

The Browns are willing to overpay the fuck out of him for one year to see if it’s there. He should take it. He’s not gonna get anything better anywhere else.

Now it is being reported that the Browns offered Clowney a base salary of $12 Million on a one year deal.

It was reported that Seattle offered him $18.5 Million per year but doesn’t say how many years before he decline it.

Clowney screwed himself because no one will be paying him that much this year. If he really wants to play then he is going to have to sign a one year prove it deal.
