ParticipantHe also has a no tag clause for next season.
So, he’s betting on himself to have a big year, and the Browns are hoping he can have a big year and cash in somewhere else and get a compensatory pick in the process.
Solid move in my book.

Are there any “major” DE’s available besides Clowney?
I don’t think we’re signing him because he doesn’t want to sign here. I can’t think of another DE that this deal would impact

ParticipantThis means Clowney can’t use the Browns to entice another team to make a better offer.
If healthy, Vernon is pretty good and will help. Just have to hope he stays healthy.
I also read part of the renegotiation is that they can’t franchise him next year.
