He deserves his own thread and gets a “season” ball. What he’s done with the OL is astounding. They need to make him assistant GM, HC, Owner, Team President – assistant every title under the sun so he can’t leave. Rookie LT not named Joe Thomas are supposed to struggle. We should be noticing a glaring difference in RT as Conklin has been out more than in. Pass protection is there and the run game, well, 3 games in a row we run more than pass and 3 games in a row we win:
32
36
37The number of called run plays per win.
Also, for those saying you can’t score fast by running, we lead the NFL in scoring drives under 2 minutes in length. We also lead the NFL in rushing attempts and are 26 in passing attempts.

October 5, 2020 at 9:57 am #19431IceKeymasterThis is the best I’ve seen the offensive line play in probably 20+ years. I don’t know how much of that success is due to Callahan, the offensive scheme, or the individual players but they all deserve a lot of praise. Hubbard switching out for Conklin yesterday and you didn’t even see a difference. Teller is having an all-pro season so far. Wills is playing like a vet who has played LT his whole career instead of a rookie RT who switched sides without any offseason work. Put anyone at RB, even Soup, and they’ll get 5 YPC. With our studs we get more like 8+.

It’s a mixture. Callahan was an amazing hire by Stefanski. His ability to teach what Stefanski needs to run the scheme. At the risk of jinxing things, this staff is in lockstep with each other

Will has definitely been up and down, but he’s a rookie. But as a squad they’ve been rock solid, and more than anything they’re on the same page as Mayfield. That’s tough to do because he rolls out and moves around a lot.

October 5, 2020 at 6:34 pm #19459BrownsFan4LifeParticipantCallahan is a great Offensive Line Coach. The Browns OL is doing great this year.
Despite missing the final three quarters of the Cowboys game, Chubb is second in the NFL in rushing yards 335 on 57 carries (5.9 average) and four TDs. Hunt is ninth with 275 yards on 50 carries (5.5 average) and 3 TDs. Overall, the Browns are first in the NFL in rushing yards (818), rushing average (5.88), and rushing TDs (8).
I don’t care if it is coaching, players or scheme, I just want them to keep it up.
