Well aftyer a few weeks of college football and 1 week of Big ten football I have adjusted some. Also because of limited coaching due to covid. Defenses suck this year. So I imagine 2019 tape will be worth more than 2020 tape…

About Baker…ya set a franchise record for completed passes in a row. Awesome. You are leading the team to wins over teams you should beat. Awesome. Can ya beat the Steelers Ravens or Titans? Not with this defense thats for sure. So lets do something about that.

Round 1 Pick 20 Carlos Basham, DE, Wake Forest
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 275.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.85.
Best Combo 43 DE at the area I think the Browns will be drafting. Basham is “GOOD” against the run and the pass he just isn’t “GREAT”. But he is good enough to get home vs single blockers. And thanks to Garrett he will see alot of that.

Round 2 Pick 20 Israel Mukuamu, CB, South Carolina
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 205.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.51.
The reason I picked a big cornor here is three fold. One thats waht the D schematic calls for…think Richard Sherman/Legion of boom. Two, no news is bad news when it comes to Greedy Williams nerve damaged shoulder IMO. Three, the Browns need an aswer for Claypool in Pitt.

Round 3 Pick 16 Hamsah Nasirildeen, S, Florida State
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 212.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.56.
This guy will be the new SS, Delphit the FS and Harrison the Nickel safety. This guy is on the shelf right now with a knee injury but all he does is make tackles in the run game and pass game with a 192 combined in 2018 & 2019. Kidd needs to thicken up a bit and he could be the Browns
    version of Kam Chancellor.

Round 3 Pick 19 Baron Browning, LB, Ohio State
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 240.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.76.
There is problem this year for the Buckeyes D, and is lack of coaching due to Covid. As the Buckeyes replaced there D coordinator but are running the old DC’s scheme. So the DC not only has to coach a D in a limited oppertunity enviroment. It is also in a scheme that isn’t his. I get the reasoning though. It’s easier for a DC to learn a new D in this Covid effected season than it is to install a new D to an entire defense. Also the Buckeyes weakest unit right now is there defensive line. So LB play by Browner is down because of those huge factors. So I expect both prospects to fall to day 2. Browning is more of see it 1st then chase guy and a gifted athelete than Werner. Werner on the other hand isa more read and react guy that is technically sound and a tich less gited athlete than Browning.

Round 4 Pick 9 Pete Werner, LB, Ohio State
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 239.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.74.
    See above.

Round 4 Pick 20 Khyiris Tonga, NT, BYU
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 321.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.48.
The Browns in my opinion lack a bad ass run stuffing DT. Tonga is a beast at that. Is he a 2 down DT/NT..yeah…and?

Round 5 Pick 23 Mike Strachan, WR, University of Charleston
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 225.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.54.
Track star from the Bahamas who now has played football for 2 seasons “ever” and blown up the stat sheet at the small school level. Kid is a pure height/weight/speed project pick on day three. Berry took DPJ on day 3, so why not try again.

Round 6 Pick 20: Christian Uphoff, S, Illinois State
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 195.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.58.
Special Teams player & DB project.

Round 7 Pick 24: Vincent Gray*, CB, Michigan
    Height: 6-2. Weight: 185.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.54.
Special Teams player & DB project.

I wouldn’t be mad about any of this, but personal preference if they go DE in the first round of rather go the speedy, athletic pass rusher route. Basham is more of the big, strong edge-sealer with limited rushing ability. I’d rather a front four we can consistenly rely on to provide pressure on every down without help, freeing up the rest of our defense to mix up and disguise coverage.

Drafting a lot of help in the secondary and another athletic linebacker is a great move. If nothing else, the Steelers showed us what a fast, athletic defense can do.

The speedy guys are under sized tweeners in this so so edge rusher class. Bashem I think will time ok. I was just trying to pick someone that fit the scheme and was good vs the run and pass.

That and I just tried to add size to the defense everywhere.

This defense needs reenforcements. Hopefully we are in store for a draft like this.
