No word on who it is or if they played yesterday. Someone will be joining Hubbard on the COVID list

November 16, 2020 at 10:07 pm #19799soupParticipantAndy Janovich is on the COVID list
Freedom!!!
November 17, 2020 at 1:34 am #19800MDP Sack AttackParticipantWell, shit. Hope it doesn’t go much farther; I was just reading an article about how tests aren’t reliable for up to 5 days after exposure, so who knows how many practices (not to mention the game) it’s been.
Positive vibes!

Next man up then? One FB goes to the covid list and the practice squad guy gets activated? Iassume this is what this was designed for…

November 18, 2020 at 11:38 am #19804MDP Sack AttackParticipantNot so fast:
“The Cleveland Browns will place T Jack Conklin, LS Charley Hughlett and K Cody Parkey on the reserve/COVID-19 list.*
*This reserve list category was created for a player who either tests positive for COVID-19 or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons. Per agreed upon NFL-NFLPA policy, clubs are not permitted to comment on player’s medical status other than referring to roster status. Clubs may not disclose whether player is in quarantine or is positive for COVID-19.”
Conklin is a huge loss.
November 18, 2020 at 11:47 am #19805Dawg E. DawgParticipantIs there a minimum stay on the list? I saw Janovich is for sure out this weekend, but is there a chance the other 3 play??

It sounds doubtful.
For positive test and symptomatic:
– 10 days have passed since first COVID-19 symptoms appeared
– At least 72 hours have passed since symptoms last occurred
– Return is approved by team’s physician after consulting with ICS and NFL’s chief medical officer
– Local regulations and requirements are satisfied
For “close exposure to an infected person:
Players who are in close contact but who test negative need a second negative within 24 hours of their first negative, “increased symptom monitoring,” and eight days of daily testing.
So it kinda depends on if they test positive or were just exposed, but teams don’t disclose that information.
My concern is that it’s the second time in a week we’ve had a scare, shut it down, tested, gave the all clear, and then had to shut it down again. Given the five day incubation period where tests are fairly useless, I doubt this will be the end of it.

But F me thats a lot of replacing on the fly….. damn.

November 18, 2020 at 3:36 pm #19810soupParticipantWe need to go for it rather than FG. Timing is the biggest part of kicking. If the LS and K are out that’s dangerous

November 18, 2020 at 5:59 pm #19811Dawg E. DawgParticipantMack wilson will be the long snapper if Highlett can’t go. I know that doesn’t make a lick of sense, but that’s what’s been reported.

November 26, 2020 at 3:41 pm #19870MDP Sack AttackParticipantYesterday was Takitaki. He’s out for Sunday and probably next week, given the timeline.
Another positive test today and they’ve shut down the practice facility.
Curious how they quarantine players in the meantime. Also, is there a protocol for cancelling games? Number of positive tests or anything?
November 26, 2020 at 4:05 pm #19871mike barnesParticipantIt was DE Porter Gustin.
November 27, 2020 at 2:53 am #19872MDP Sack AttackParticipantDamn. This would be a great week to let our line demolish an offense, but suddenly we’re pretty thin up front. Hopefully we don’t add any more names to the list.
November 27, 2020 at 9:50 am #19873IceKeymasterThese guys need to quit making out in the locker room.

Don’t worry, the team who had a five year long MRSA outbreak is on top of this one.
November 29, 2020 at 12:24 pm #19875IceKeymasterWas it only 5? Feels like it was most of my life.
