December 22, 2020 at 9:16 am #20208IceKeymasterIt was glorious. An early Christmas gift for sure. Time for Rottenburger to retire. Let’s see how good the Steelers really are without him.

Need to beat the Jets and Need a loss by Tenn/Balt/Miami so we are guaranteed a playoff spot first.
Miami’s D is excellent. Counting them out against the Bills is silly. Steelers destroyed Allen, New England destroyed Allen Miami made Mahomes look pedestrian.
If I have a choice of:
Indy beats Steelers Browns beat Jets:
AFCN up for grabs but if the Browns lose they are out of the playoff
OR
Browns beat Jets Steelers beat Indy Browns guaranteed playoffs –
I’m taking option 2 everytime.
The football world we be a much better place if Baltimore loses to the NYG (which they won’t. They’ll win by 30+)

Our clinching scenarios are a Browns win and a Colts loss, or a Browns win and Raven or Dolphins loss or tie.
Miami has the Raiders on Saturday, that’ll be the one to watch. Raiders, I think, are still alive, so they should be playing hard. Miami may get an easy game against the Bills next week, if Buffalo has nothing to play for.

Cleveland clinches playoff berth with:

December 26, 2020 at 11:29 am #20241Dawg E. DawgParticipantHere’s “the Tennesse thing”:
Tennessee and Indy are currently tied at 10-4, but Tennessee holds the tiebreaker over Indy, and nothing can change that in the next two weeks. If Tennessee goes 12-4, they win the division. If the Colts lose today, the Titans would only need to go 11-5 to win the division.
This all becomes relevant when you consider the Browns chances to win the division if they go 11-5. Worst case scenario, the Browns COULD be in a tie for the last wildcard spot with the Dolphins, Ravens, Colts, and Titans, all at 11-5.
What you need to know is if the Browns are in a 3-way tie with the Ravens, the Browns WILL not be considered for a playoff spot until AFTER the Ravens have a spot, and IF the Dolphins are in a 3-way tie, they will ALWAYS get the first spot because of their AFC conference record.
So, the Dolphins he the first wildcard spot. Then, if it’a between the Ravens and Colts, the Ravens get the 2nd wildcard spot, and it would be between Browns/Colts for the 3rd, and we’d get the 3rd spot, and the Colts would be left out.
If it’s Ravens/Titans for the 2nd wildcard spot, Titans get that spot and the Ravens would get the 3rd spot, and we’d be left out.
But, like I said above, the Titans are only in play if they go 11-5 and DONT win the division, and the only way that happens is if the Colts go 12-4.
So, if the Colts go 12-4, an 11-5 Titans team could keep the Browns out. If the Colts lose one game, it means a 12-4 or 11-5 Titans team would win the AFC South, and an 11-5 Colts team would NOT keep the Browns out, assuming the Browns get to at least 11-5.
In summary, there’s really only one thing left to do. Win the whole. Fucking. Thing.
December 26, 2020 at 1:22 pm #20243BrownsFan4LifeParticipantBest case scenario is we win out and PBurg loses out. That means we win the division.
