Wunkle’s Picks For Week 4

After going 12-3 last week (including me nailing the Monday night score), the first thought that came to my mind was what former Browns head coach Bud Carson jokingly told the media after beating the Steelers in Pittsburgh 51-0; “Well, it can only go downhill from here.” That said, I thought I’d give this weeks games a shot and get the article in time to catch the Thursday night game.

One note before I make the picks . . . I’m just picking winners and losers straight up. I only add scores for entertainment purposes only and am in no way looking at point spreads. Picking winners straight up is tough enough without looking at point spreads. Now, on with the picks.

Ravens at Steelers: After jokingly mentioning Ben Roethlisberger breaking his leg, maybe I should keep the discussion of potential injuries to a minimum. On second thought, screw that, I hate the Steelers. Ravens are pissed after going 0-3 to start the season. Michael Vick isn’t a viable option as a starting QB anymore. Final Score : Ravens 17 – Steelers 13.

Jets at Dolphins: Jets bounce back after the egg they laid last week against the Iggles. Final score: Jets 24 – Dolphins 13.

Jaguars at Colts: The Colts are in the weakest division in the NFL. Final score: Colts 24 – Jaguars 16.

Giants at Bills: Eli Manning coming off extended rest from a Thursday night win won’t be enough to beat the Bills defense. Final Score: Bills 16 – Giants 13. This one could even go to overtime.

Panthers at Buccaneers: The Bucs won’t get a divisional win at home until they host the Saints. Final score: Panthers 24 – Bucs 6.

Eagles at Redskins: The losing woes continue in Washington. Final score: Eagles 30 – Skins 13.

Raiders at Bears: Head coach Jack Del Rio takes Raider nation to Chicago and gets out of town with their second straight road win. Final score: Raiders 16 – Bears 6.

Texans at Falcons: Houston is struggling a bit and Matty Ice will hit Julio Jones for at least one TD. Final score: Falcons 24 – Texans 13.

Chiefs at Bengals: This isn’t a prime time game, so Cincinnati QB Andy Dalton will probably do just enough to win this game. Final score: Bengals 28 – Chiefs 24.

Browns at Chargers: After suffering a deflating loss at home to the Raiders, the avalanche continues on the road in San Diego. Final score: Chargers 30 – Browns 13.

Packers at 49ers: The Packers are one of the elite teams in this league and the 49ers are in a tailspin. Packers come up with a win even after a short week. Final score: Packers 31 – 49ers 13.

Rams at Cardinals: The Rams offense stays in bed as the Cards roll at home. Final score: Cardinals 24 – Rams 12.

Vikings at Broncos: The Vikings will make a game of this early, but the Broncos will eventually pull away – likely towards the end of the first half. Final score: Broncos 31 – Vikings 20.

Cowboys at Saints: New Orleans QB Drew Brees may or may not start at this point,  but  The Cowboys will run the ball, then dink and dunk their way to a road win. Final score: Cowboys 24 – Saints 13.

Lions at Seahawks: This will be one of the easiest Monday night picks this year. Final score: Seahawks 28 – Lions 10.
