Honest question. I really don’t know much about the kid’s measuarbles other than the obvious. He’s supposed to be freakishly strong and has a great work ethic with natural athleticism. I wonder if he’d work out as a gadget TE, primarily a blocker who would function as a 6th lineman who could slip out for passes and demand (at least) two defenders to bring him down?

Not advocating the Browns to get him, not advocating anyone spending more than a late pick on him. Just an honest question.

What does @billwunkle think about McGowan?

He is the Fridge. He’ll have to make the team at some other position and then maybe they can make up a gadget play for him just like in the vid you posted. Honestly you could do the exact same thing with Shelton and get the exact same results. He wasn’t covered at all so the success of the play has nothing to do with his athleticism.

My apologies for not responding sooner, MDP. He has some skills for certain, but I think he’ll need to make it in the NFL as an OT first in order to maximize his reps at the next level; and probably at RT because I think he could be a road grater type of tackle. I do think he’ll make an excellent TE in a JUMBO package. My only question is his burst off the line of scrimmage, as I suspect it’ll take some time to get 400 lbs. of TE moving down the field.

Am I going mad, or did the word THINK escape your lips? You were not hired for your brains, you hippopotamic landmass!
