ParticipantWUNKLE’S PICKS FOR WEEK ELEVEN
To be frank, last week’s game results is the reason why I don’t gamble on sporting events. The underdogs (according to Vegas)went 10-3 straight up and 11-2 against the spread. Needless to say, Bill Wunkle’s predictions didn’t do well, going 4-9 to bring this season’s record down to 74-36 (a season low 67.27%). That said, the sun did indeed come up this morning and I was able to turn off the alarm clock all by myself; so it’s a good day. So, without any further delay, here are Wunkle’s picks for week eleven.
Tennessee at Jacksonville: In a game that sees the first quarterbacks taken in each of the last two drafts, the Jags are 2-2 at home and the Titans are (surprisingly) 2-2 on the road. I’ll go with the home team. Final score: Jaguars 24 – Titans 20.
Indianapolis at Atlanta: Andrew Luck is likely out, but the Colts seem to play better with Matt Hasselbeck under center. Atlanta has faltered some of late, but is still a very good team. In the end, Matt Ryan and company will come out with a “W” at home. Final score: Falcons 31 – Colts 24.
St. Louis at Baltimore: The Ravens are reeling without Steve Smith Sr. and desperately need a home win. Nick Foles has been benched for Case Keenum. Quite frankly, I think that RB Todd Gurley will be the difference. Final score: Rams 20 – Ravens 16.
Washington at Carolina: The Panthers will lose a game this year, but not this week. Final score: Panthers 31 – Redskins 13.
Denver at Chicago: Brock Osweiler takes over for the injured Peyton Manning. I give the edge to the Broncos because of the offensive weapons and their defense. Final score: Broncos 24 – Bears 17.
Oakland at Detroit: After a surprise win last week against the Packers, the Lions are due for a let down. Derek Carr and company come out on top. Final score: Raiders 31 – Lions 20.
New York Jets at Houston: The Texans are coming off the hangover known as Monday night win. The Jets will do enough to get a road win against TJ Yates and company. Final score: Jets 30 – Texans 16.
Dallas at Miami: The losing continues in big D. How ’bout them Cowboys? Final score: Dolphins 24 – Cowboys 20.
Tampa Bay at Philadelphia: With both teams at 4-5, something’s got to give. Final score: Eagles 20 – Bucs 17.
Kansas City at San Diego: The Chargers are a bad team with a great QB, and the Chiefs will eek out a road “W” in California. Final score: Chiefs 20 – Chargers 17.
Green Bay at Minnesota: Tough game to call, but I give the edge to the home team. Final score: Vikings 34 – Packers 31 in overtime.
San Francisco at Seattle: Blaine Gabbert is not the second coming of Joe Montana. Final score: Seahawks 24 – 49ers 16.
Cincinnati at Arizona: Still licking their wounds from their Monday night loss, the Bengals take their show on the road to Arizona. Not an easy game for either team. Final score: Cardinals 31 – Bengals 24.
Buffalo at New England: Tom Brady is still Tom freaking Brady. Need I say more? Final score: Patriots 38 – Bills 16.
And with it being bye week for the Browns, we’re all expecting the Cleveland sports media to be on red alert. That’s all for now, folks. Have a great weekend, everyone.
Am I going mad, or did the word THINK escape your lips? You were not hired for your brains, you hippopotamic landmass!
