Jordan Cameron who? Barnidge learned from the mistake of his predecessor and re-upped with the Browns today. Details haven’t come out yet but it is described as a multi-year deal. So go ahead and ask Santa for that Barnidge jersey, it should still be in style for at least a couple years.
December 10, 2015 at 5:13 pm #3107MDP Sack AttackParticipantHe’s my favorite player on the current roster, and it’s a true sign of how bad this team has gotten that I read this news and my first reaction was “oh great, that’s going to blow up in our faces”.
December 10, 2015 at 5:22 pm #3108DawgPoundDudeParticipantAnd it looks like Benjamin very well could be next.
Maybe Farmer got wise, at least in regards to current players on the roster.
December 11, 2015 at 9:58 am #3109IceKeymasterI’m not sure that Farmer has anything to do with it except maybe making the numbers work. Barnidge was brought to the team by Chudzinski and signed the contract after a one-on-one talk with Haslam.
December 11, 2015 at 1:27 pm #3114ShooterModeratorI’m surprised that when signing it he didn’t tear every ligament in his wrist requiring career ending surgery.
December 11, 2015 at 3:01 pm #3115IceKeymasterNo, that doesn’t happen until he takes his first practice snap after signing.
December 12, 2015 at 10:10 am #3123the dudeParticipant@Ice – Jordan Cameron was never very good hear. He had size but his blocking and pass route running sucked. If you pay really close attention he would like to run 7-8 yards and then stop turn around and start jumping up in the air like you would when you were in 6th grade playing football on the playground.
@shooter – hopefully he didn’t agree to the terms “playing like a brown” because then he will only play about 8 games in a season.
I don’t understand keeping Travis Benjamin. He would not make a starting lineup in any other program.
Hue Jackson is a loser.
December 12, 2015 at 10:33 am #3126IceKeymaster@dude Correction. Cameron loved to run 7-8 yards and stop on 3rd and 10. If it was 3rd and 8 he would run 5-6 yards and stop. But the dude did blow the top off of some coverages too. Give him a little credit. He was much faster and more athletic than Barnidge but I never saw him catch a ball with his toes or drag 3 defenders 6 yards.

He’s on pace for 72 catches for 1100 yards and 7 TD’s while catching passes from 3 different scrub QB’s. Put him in New England and he’s the next Welker/Edelmen. Carson Palmer would make this guy shine. So would Roethlisberger. Put him in Oakland opposite Amari Cooper with Carr slinging the rock his way and that offense would be dynamic. Not only would he start on many other teams, he’d thrive.
The problem is that he’s being featured as the no.1 receiver on this team, and that is not his role. If Gordon can come back and stay back, Benjamin slides to his natural fit as a 2. A #2 receiver that can go for that kind of production is an awesome commodity.
You forget that 2 years ago, Benjamin was showing some real flashes and then suffered a serious injury. Last year he struggled in coming back from that injury. This year, his legs are back under him and his speed is back, and he’s producing well and is a legitimate weapon.
I don’t understand your take on Benji.

He’s the next Welker/Edelmen is a joke. I can’t believe your orange glasses would even put him in the same category as Wes Welker. Roethlisberger makes every wide receiver shine against our backfield. I hate Roethlisberger, but he is pretty fucking good. I still hope every time he touches the field his career is over. With that said, yes, he would be pretty good under Roethlisberger if he even makes Pittspukes field.
He is on pace for that many yards and catches is if because him and barnidge are the only threats with this organization. Hartlines hands suck ass. He has been trash this season.
I truly think it is funny how every Browns fan falls in love with players because of one year and think he is the best thing next to slice bread. They think these guys would be starters or even make other teams, but rarely ever are they proven and when they do sign with other teams, how often does that team go in to the tank.

He’s doing well, but we are wearing orange glasses because we would want to have him continue doing well? I, really, don’t get that.
The reason I would want him on my team is that, despite this trash season, he’s one of the few making plays.
