Johnny had some displays of bad footwork and poor decision making today. He missed a wide open Barnidge once, and over/underthrew him repeatedly. He was skittish in the pocket and his INT was completely inexcusable, and we lost.
Johnny also played his fucking ass off until near/beyond total exhaustion on that drive, did everything in his power to WILL his team to a win, never quit, and was FUCKING PISSED ABOUT IT when it didn’t happen.
Not only is he winning me over because of it, he’s doing it while making me think that a QB in round 1 is totally asinine.
He has it.
He
has
“it”.
Write it down.
I’ve never seen that from a QB in this town since Couch. Beaten, bloodied, bruised………… that fucking kid never wavered.
Never Quit.
I FUCKING LOVE THAT.
He………does……..not…….stop.
That kid just led our team in rushing today, and played his ass off. But that’s not what impressed me.
What impressed me was the fact that he played til he had nothing left in the tank, and then kept playing. He was in full command.
In many aspects, that dude just fell on his face today.
But in many others, I have to tell you, I think that kid just figured out how to be a leader today.
He absolutely SPENT himself. He gave it ALL he had, and he lost.
2 Things happens with a cocky prick like that, and only 2. They fall to the wayside and become an anecdote or footnote or an aside to a time written by someone, from some paper, and then that’s that.
Or………
Holy fuck, I’d suggest moving out of the way because he’s actually gonna live up to that “Let’s wreck this league” moniker that was bestowed upon him and you’ll get hurt real bad if you’re in the way of it not happening, whether he said it or texted it or not.
Fuck a QB in round 1, gimme some Johnny. That kid is playing some ball man. Film room, tough coaching…………..Today’s game did it for me.
I’m on the bandwagon.
December 28, 2015 at 3:41 am #3406ShooterModeratorI haven’t seen a performance like that since Couch.
He did everything he possibly could. That we lost was not on his shoulders.
That kid played his fuckin’ ass off today. PLAYED….HIS ASS….OFF….and he Gave a Fuck the entire time while doing it.
I want that.
I want THAT.
I….WANT…..THAT.
I goddamn want that out of my Quarterback.
He just got the ever-loving SHIT kicked out of him today.
And he never fucking quit.
HE NEVER QUIT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you watch the same fucking game I did?
The look on his face when he walked off the field when we didn’t score………after he almost fell the fuck down……….did you see that???
Did you see THAT???????? The Huffing, the spent, bloody, mud filled jersey.
Did you see it? Did you see the stare and the ………FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you?
cause I sure as fuck did.
Did you see the moment, the actual moment, where in the middle of all of that shit, Johnny said……..”I MOTHERFUCKING GIVE A FUCK”? with his eyes?
Because I did.
He’s turning from a cocky little prick, entitled nothing nobody hack, into a fucking machine.
He’s got it. He lost it, but he found it again. This kid’s got it.
Mock me, beat me down, call me crazy tell me I’m nuts abut comparisons to Couch, tell me I’m crazy about how I felt about Couch, feel free do whatever.
We have a Quarterback though.
December 28, 2015 at 3:45 am #3407ShooterModerator50 bucks says he beats the Steelers next week.
No odds, no points, just straight up.
50 bucks.
December 28, 2015 at 11:08 am #3408DawgPoundDudeParticipantBy the way, I’m hearing he has the flu.
Dude played his ass off. If and when it all comes together for this kid…we have something special. He had KC’s defense completely unbalanced, and if he gets that throw out of bounds at the end of the game, who knows what could have happened? Yes, the running game came on as well…which again was helped by Johnny. Hell of a game.
You got guys like Len Dawson here, saying that he feels he could be better than guys like Tarkenton. Much faster and craftier.
I’m not on the fence with him, I definitely believe he can be a QB in this league…it just all needs to come together. I wish our defense would have played like they did in the second half all season long…and that our line was blocking as well like that. Couple that with a few good runs, and we could well be in the process of “wrecking this league”.
December 28, 2015 at 12:32 pm #3409soupParticipantNo, he clearly doesn’t give up and he plays his ass off. So did Charlie Frye. My point? Manziel proved yesterday he lacks the arm strength to play in a cold weather town. The ball was pushed all over by the wind. He also went back to not knowing the routes. CAse in point – multiple times Duke Johnson went up the sideline with arm in air – Johnny never looked for him. Biggest case in point was a play where Johnny scrambled around and threw it away. Rich Gannon said “Look what he did – he had no where to throw to.” Then they showed the replay from above – had he gone quick through progressions Jenning’s was open in the middle. As that happened Gannon stated “he has to release the ball quicker.” He changed his tune during the replay of which he had just praised him. Why? Because he was taken aback by Johnny’s moxy. IT overshadowed what a QB does – when Gannon took the real view in he changed his tune.
The previous 2 weeks Johnny looked like he was developing into a real QB. This week it all went backwards. He’s a poor man’s Russell Wilson.
I love the fact that he gave all. I have no issue with the way he ran yesterday. None at all. But when it comes down to it – he’s a dome QB.
vs. NYJ (3 Q) – 10 points
vs. Tennessee (currently hold the position for the #1 pick in the draft)- 28 points (7 were from the special teams)
vs. Cincy – 10 points
vs. Pittsburgh – 9 points
vs. SF – 24 points (currently sitting at #5 in the NFL draft)
vs. Seattle – 13 points
vs. KC – 13 pointsSF and Tennessee are tied for 2nd WORST in the NFL allowing 8.1 YPA from opposing QBs.
Those 2 games 20+ points. The other 5 games? 13 or less points.
He’s Charlie Frye with a weaker arm.
Freedom!!!
December 28, 2015 at 1:08 pm #3410MDP Sack AttackParticipantAll three of you are right, which is why I wish we’d just stuck with him from week 2 on. He’s shown growth and regression, he’s made brilliant plays and completely idiotic ones. What he has not had (and realistically does not have) is the time to show how he can learn and develop from his mistakes.
Which, to me, puts us in a conundrum with a top three draft pick. We have not and will not see enough to take a franchise QB off the table, if we feel one will be available, which puts us in a tough spot if there’s a pass rusher or wide receiver whom we have rated higher.
December 28, 2015 at 1:32 pm #3411ShooterModerator#1 please don’t compare Johnny Manziel to Charlie freaking Frye. (a guy who if I’m not mistaken, you had an elaborate and intense love affair with).
Manziel proved yesterday he lacks the arm strength to play in a cold weather town. The ball was pushed all over by the wind.
No, that’s a subjective opinion in no way based any anything remotely close to “proof”. Johnny can spin it, we’ve all seen it, and if you can do it once you can do t 1,000 times. A few balls sailed on him and went awry due to poor footwork, the very 1st thing that i mentioned as I launched into this diatribe. He wasn’t driving the ball, wasn’t getting his feet set, and was throwing off his back foot often.
Bad mistakes, yet very correctable in the film room.
In no way does it correlate to his arm strength or ability to throw the ball in cold weather. At all.
But when it comes down to it – he’s a dome QB.
WTF does that even mean? He’s never even played a football game in a dome.
He’s Charlie Frye with a weaker arm.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Any and all credibility that you had left when discussing football is completely gone now. As I have shown on multiple occasions, you make shit up and have no idea what you’re talking about. With a straight face and dead serious, you’re really going to sit at your computer and make the statement that Charlie Frye had a stronger arm than Johnny.
Nobody can argue with you. That was probably the dumbest thing that’s ever come out of your head. At best, Charlie Frye had a noodle arm. Ken Dorsey-like in it’s futility. Johnny can throw it 40 yards on the numbers, and do it while on the run. You are insane. On so many levels that I’ve now lost count.
I honestly don’t know what’s scarier, the fact that you actually made that statement, or the fact that you totally believe it. Either way, it proves that when you watch football, as the images enter your retinas but before they reach your brain, there is some sort of twisted, evil kaleidoscope that intercepts them fist and completely distorts everything you see and renders any and all opinions that you derive from the viewing of those images moot and totally unusable because they are in no way based on reality.
Saying that Johnny Manziel has a weaker arm than Charlie Frye holds the some value as telling me that you spend 15 minutes before work combing your hair.
The exact
same
value.

…and then you get shit like this. Will it ever end, Johnny?
December 28, 2015 at 7:33 pm #3413BillWunkleParticipantLet me get this straight, Scooter . . . You want a quarterback that the “shrimpy” Colt McCoy towers over, lacks the frame/bone structure to withstand the pounding of a sixteen game NFL regular season, whose footwork and mechanics are such a mess that his throwing accuracy is questionable at best, and whose off the field escapades by their very nature make him a quarterback that no head coach can either trust or rely upon. All this because you feel that he “played his ass off” and was “pissed” after yet another loss. Well, aren’t you something special? Is this “it” you’re speaking of which Johnny has some sort of venereal disease, because this trick bag punk that you hold in such high regard is NOT a winner at the NFL level – nor will he ever be. Oh, but he’s guided the Browns to wins over the Titans and 49ers this season. If you want to crown his ass, then crown his ass; but I refuse to buy into the rhetoric and unsubstantiated hype that you and all the other Manzealots and members of the Manziel Mafia continually spew out like an elephant’s vomit over the various branches of the electronic media.
Get this through your thick skull . . . The circus will not leave Cleveland until Johnny does; and I for one cannot wait for that day when all the insanity is shipped out. The healing in this sports town won’t have an opportunity to begin until this polarizing enigma is sent packing. Jimmy is consulting with Ron Wolfe to evaluate to have him the organization from top to bottom. And here’s a dose of reality that comes with that . . . In all likelihood, the Browns are going to fire either Ray Farmer or Mike Pettine – and possibly both – once the regular season is over. Answer me this if you would. Why would ANY football man in his right mind and with a reputation of integrity to uphold want to take on the job of GM or head coach of this organization under the condition that Johnny is your starting QB?
This is the kind of garbage on the field that Browns fans have had to tolerate – and will continue to tolerate – as long as the football operations side of the organization is run by people who are either inept (Dwight Clark, Ray Farmer), under-qualified (Tom Heckert) or have mailed it in after signing one final huge paycheck (Mike Holmgren). And for the record, I’m not interested in hiring a head of football operations that’s already in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. I’d much rather hire the guy who’ll get there based upon what he does in Cleveland over the next 10-15 years, then hands the keys over to the next one to do the same thing following in his footsteps.
Am I going mad, or did the word THINK escape your lips? You were not hired for your brains, you hippopotamic landmass!
December 28, 2015 at 11:08 pm #3416soupParticipantRead the headline
http://www.si.com/nfl/audibles/2014/03/27/johnny-manziel-arm-strength-2014-nfl-draft
Charlie Frye – listed under STRENGTHS
Reads coverages well and makes a lot of checks at the line, showing more than enough arm strength to zip the ball in tight areas.
Frye’s arm was much stronger than Johnny. Now instead of harping on something you were wrong about, how about addressing the rest of my post? How about his 5 games of 13 or less points this year? How is that a guy who has “it”?
@billwunkle Where’d you hear he’s consulting with Ron Wolfe? Because that’s AWESOME!

December 29, 2015 at 2:13 pm #3420ShooterModeratorlacks the frame/bone structure to withstand the pounding of a sixteen game NFL regular season
How do you guys come up with this stuff? What does that even mean? How do you know what his bone structure is? What is the chart comparison for his frame? I’m not being a smartass here, I’m just asking how you came up with this take.
Does Russell Wilson have the bone structure or frame to take a pounding in the NFL over 16 games? Because he’s shorter than Johnny and weighs 4 pounds less. What about Drew Brees? Does he lack bone structure or frame? Because he’s the same height and weighs 2 pounds more. What about Tyrod Taylor? How is his bone structure compared to Johnny’s, because they’re the same height with Taylor having a 10 pound advantage in weight.
Please, explain your system of comparison to me.
As for everything else, it’s all subjective opinion. There’s not much point in arguing with you because you’ve already made up your mind about Johnny and sadly, I feel that the overwhelming majority of them have been formed from off-the-field incidents rather than what he’s actually done on it. And since you’ve already come to all of the conclusions that you need to about him, discussing things that Johnny has done on the field are a complete waste of time. Both of ours.
I’ll just end with this Bill. Yes, I think that Johnny Manziel should be the starter next season. And keep in mind, this is coming from a guy who despised the Johnny pick, ridiculed the team for taking him, hated his game, hated his size, didn’t think there was a chance in hell that Johnny’s game would in any way translate to the NFL, thought he was going to get killed, and would struggle at best to even catch on somewhere as a back up. That has been my opinion for over a year and a half now. Something tells me you won’t keep that in mind thoguh. You won’t listen to anything I have to say about why I have begrudgingly changed my tune, what it is that made me change my mind, how far my mind has changed, or what I think Johnny can/can’t do going forward on this team. You won’t do any of that because doesn’t fit your narrative. Which is simply, you hate Johnny Manziel and will throw a party the day comes when he’s released.
December 29, 2015 at 4:21 pm #3425soupParticipantYou still haven’t addressed 13 points or less in 5 of 7 starts. Notice I’m not talking about wins and losses. Just points scored. If he was putting up 17, 21, 24, 17, 20. You may have a point. But 13 or less isn’t “it.”
His arm isn’t subjective. The wind blew that ball all over the place. The point of what I linked is that if he isn’t set then he has no arm. Aaron Rodgers, Rivers, Ben, Bortles, and a host of others don’t need to be set perfect to make throws through wind. This is the NFL, not college.
I was rooting for Johnny Sunday. LOVED his desire and drive. Buy that doesn’t make up for a bad arm and am inability to go through progressions.
Freedom!!!
December 29, 2015 at 11:36 pm #3427ShooterModeratorAll I’m saying is that for me, from what I’ve seen, I believe that he’s earned the right to be the starter next season. His play this year has been leaps and bounds beyond what it was last year. If he makes the same level of improvement from this year to next, we could be in for something good here.
He’s been brilliant at times, and he’s been hair-pullingly maddening at times. The hair pulling parts can all be corrected with repetition, film study, and better play from those around him. He made that improvement once, I’d like to see him have the opportunity to do it again. I’d like the carousel to stop.
As for the arm strength argument, I’m just not going to have it with you. You saw what you saw and just like Bill, nothing is going to change your mind. Once it’s set, it’s set and that’s all there is to it. Why should I argue with you? Am I going to change your mind? It ranks right up there with your “billion screen passes” argument that, well, that I completely destroyed. Even when I proved how wrong you were and how irrefutably right I was, you still believe that we ran “a billion screens”. It’s futility to argue, so, I’m not gonna bother.
I think he should start next year.
December 30, 2015 at 7:25 am #3428soupParticipantLink me a video of every pass in the steelers game. We’ll count them. Until then, I’m not wrong. He was crap in the Steelers game.
In the SF he looked the part, in the Seattle game he looked the part. I agree those were huge strides.
Last week? Nope. Looked like the same out of place guy.

December 30, 2015 at 12:06 pm #3429DawgPoundDudeParticipantNot sure if you caught what I said earlier, yet not trying to make the boy any excuses, but he was supposedly sick for that game. Maybe his equilibrium was off, I dunno.
That said, if it had all come together for him, we would be talking about how we absolutely demolished a team heading to the playoffs. And I mean decimated.
To completely agree with you @soup, we need to keep up with the continuity if he has any hope of developing into a true starter. But to completely agree with @shooter, I think this kid is something special, and may not end up a wasted pick after all.
And @billwunkle…what the hell happened to you, Uncle Bill? Don’t get me wrong, everyone is entitled to their opinions but damn…Scooter? That shit came entirely out of left field. @Shooter…did you used to date his daughter or something?

Not doing this with you. I provided you with all the proof needed. 33 completions, 5 to running backs. 28 were downfield to receivers, I don’t know what else you need other than those cold hard facts. There is no debate.
@Shooter…did you used to date his daughter or something?
No clue what his problem is.
All I can come up with is he, with every fiber of his being, loathes Johnny Manziel. I on the other hand have softened my opinions of him lately, and in the last few weeks have even spoken out in support of him, changing my tune from a guy who for the most part was staunchly against having anything to do with him. Perhaps in a “guilt by association” turn of events, ‘ol Bill now loathes me too because of it. I dunno, that’s all I got.
T
o completely agree with you @soup, we need to keep up with the continuity if he has any hope of developing into a true starter.
Not in this town. QB’s get the hook faster than you can blink. Brady Quinn got 13 in 2 seasons. Johnny has 8 in 2 seasons. Hoyer got 16 in 2 seasons. Weeden actually got a boatload of time in comparison when he was given 20 starts over 2 years. The last guy around here to actually get a legitimate look was DA with 34, and even that was spread over the course of 3 seasons, 2 of which were in between getting benched, starting, benched, starting etc if you take away ’07 when he started 15 games.
But otherwise, yes I completely agree with you. A QB needs time and game experience to develop, but we don’t do that around here.
@shooter, I think this kid is something special, and may not end up a wasted pick after all.
He’s got talent. It’s there. He has an above average arm whether it be firing a laser 15 yards over the LB’s, or throwing on the run and putting one on the #’s 40 yards down field. His ability to throw on the run is great, and he can stand in the pocket and deliver the ball confidently. We’ve seen him do all of these things more than once. Have we seen him do any of it consistently? Hell no, and that’s the issue. But that’s all correctable with film study, coaching, and just plain old experience. He’s still at a point where every time he steps on the field a defense is doing something he’s never seen before. You have to have a plethora of game reps under your belt before you can walk to the line /or right after after the ball is snapped and know what the defense is giving you. You can’t see it all in 8 starts, you just can’t can’t, I don’t care who you are.
I like his improvisation (if it can be curtailed, and mastered as a last resort, not a one-look here and then run), I love his mobility, and I love his fire. All of his flaws are correctable/coachable. Footwork, reading a defense, standing in the pocket when it’s called for, getting rid of the ball on time, when to throw it away and live another day, what throws not to make, when to check down, hot routes etc. That’s all film work, practice, repetition, and experience.
Sadly this is all probably a moot discussion as most likely, he’s gonna be gone. It’s the Cleveland way. The QB graveyard.

December 30, 2015 at 8:09 pm #3438soupParticipantBack to Johnny.
Look at him in his first to second year and compare him to Bridgewater (Playoffs), Bortles and Carr. All drafted the same year. Those 3 are so far ahead of Johnny it’s absurd.
Again – he looked the part against SF and Seattle. He didn’t in any other game this year. A guy who has “it” wouldn’t have the following:
8 games with significant playing time (3 Q vs. the Jets) with a result of 11.8 PPG by the offense. Now to break it down further since he missed 1Q of the NYJ game – over 31 quarters of starting he is averaging 3.4 points per quarter for the offense.
Let that sink in for a moment. The team averages 13.6 PPG if you take that over 4 quarters and you believe that exhibits him having “it”? You are raving about last game and that showing you he has “it” and he threw for 4.25 YPA with 0 TDs and 1 int and a 40% completion? Alex Smith, in that same wind, completed 2 more passes on 10 less attempts.
Hopefully the new GM picks a QB in round 1. I’ve heard he has the brains – watching the little I’ve watched of him – Goff sure as hell has the accuracy for hitting guys in stride and on time.
And finally – no – Johnny’s arm is FAR from being above average. A guy who’s arm is a major concern in the draft is not one that has an above average arm.

I’ll refer to a previous statement of mine on this topic.
This is me standing next to a tree, and Soup looking at me and saying it’s a stop sign. With a straight face and being completely serious. Even if I pluck a leaf off a branch, “dude, that’s a fucking Stop Sign, are you blind?”
Alex Smith, in that same wind, completed 2 more passes on 10 less attempts.
Yeah, he did. Wow, a whopping 2 more. Also for 11 less yards.

December 30, 2015 at 8:54 pm #3441soupParticipantDude, he threw a screen to Hawkins for no gain and you claimed he didn’t throw any WR screens. I looked at just a few drives. Find every pass and we’ll see which of our memories is closer.
Did you really just say whoop DE doo he only completed 2 more passes?
Manziel 13 for 32.
Alex Smith 15 for 22.You don’t see a major difference?
Why do you keep avoiding the dismal PPG with him at QB? You’ve yet to address it. He should be inside the same level as the other guys drafted last year. He’s not even as good as Mariotta or Winston at this point

December 31, 2015 at 3:13 pm #3443ShooterModeratorDid you really just say whoop DE doo he only completed 2 more passes?
No. I quoted Austin Powers.
You don’t see a major difference?
Between 13 and 15? No, not really.
Why do you keep avoiding the dismal PPG with him at QB?
Because it’s dismal. I mean, should I be excited about it? What exactly are you asking me here?
He’s not even as good as Mariotta or Winston at this point
He’s played half as many games at this point too.
Plus, making comparisons is difficult. Winston is throwing to Mike Evans and VJax, and has Doug Martin running the ball. Not exactly apples to apples there. (The “not exactly” portion of that sentence is dripping with sarcasm btw). Mariotta may be a bit more comparable, but Mariotta was the starter from the moment he was drafted, and has prepared as such the entire offseason, then started the whole year right up til the injury. Not exactly apples to apples there either. (See “not exactly” note from above).
December 31, 2015 at 7:42 pm #3445soupParticipantYou’ve gone batshit crazy. 40% completion compared to 68% completing and you only see 2 more completions. That’s just plain crazy.its not like it was 13 for 32 compared to 15 for 30. 10 less attempts and 2 more completions in inclement weather.
Go ahead, keep praising the below average arm that doesn’t put up points because he can run like RG3…
Freedom!!!
January 1, 2016 at 3:20 am #3446ShooterModeratorWell to be fair, he can’t run like RG3. When RG3 runs, he shreds his knees and ends a career so, again, we’re not really at apples to apples here already. But I digress.
Soup, let me ask you a question here.
A serious question. It’s a 2 pronger though so while I expect you to be thorough in your response to one, try not to lose sight of the 2nd.
#1 Aren’t you tired of this QB debate here in this town? With this team? I mean really, honestly, aren’t you sick of it? I sure as fuck am.
I mean let’s go back here a bit. Le’s do some nostalgic recollection of history. Do you realize that about 13 years ago, some of the epic Couch/Holcomb debates that you and I had on Dawgtalk, debates that mostly got everyone else to just shut up and watch, was what led me to invite you over to Dawgbones? We’ve been arguing about this shit literally, for what is now officially going on decades. I use it as a plural, because it would appear that we’re no different than what we were then when discussing this topic. Now although you were a Pro Couch guy….Jesus……you brutalized him. I mean, you wrecked that guy about the head and body, at will, and without prejudice. That’s where I chimed in, and where it really all began.
I gotta tell ya, I’m pretty spent dude. I’m spent with this vast sea of landlessness, afloat and drinking our own piss, hallucinating and trying to convince the other that if we listen to what the other one is saying more clearly, we’ll actually get off the boat.
We should have just jumped ship at Doug Pederson and called it a day and let the sharks eat us.
#2 You preach about nothing but consistency, continuity, and development, yet without hesitation are always the first guy to bail on that argument and embody a Vlad the Impaler approach to prove a point.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, Brady Quinn got 13 starts. Hoyer got 16. Johnny has had 8.
Can we please, please, just once, actually DEVELOP a QB around here? Can we take the time that is necessary, put parts in place that are necessary, live with the mistakes that are necessary, have both respect and confidence in the process that is necessary, and actually take all of the steps from beginning to end that really are very, very necessary in order to do that before we throw him off a castle wall onto a stake in front of his family as a clear example of what NOT to fucking to around here?
Do you think that maybe, just maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe, that just might be a good idea?
For once?
Do yo think that? Or do you lean more towards the “fuck that guy, impale the hell out of him in front of his mother, then when she’s done crying kill that dumb broad too” line of thinking?
Do you see Johnny fire a rocket halfway down the field and go, “ya know that was actually pretty fuckin cool”, but then 10 minutes later see an interception that should neeeeeeeeever be made and go “yeah fuck that guy, nevermind, scribe, strike from the record all recollection of that earlier pass where he did that thing that was cool because now he just fucking ruined it. Impale him”.
Do ya do that? Aren’t ya kind of tired of that? Don’t ya see how that really does nothing more than keep us on a boat, with no land in sight, not accomplishing anything more than just drinking our piss and yelling at the other guy on the boat with you because you hate piss and you still don’t see any land?
Please, oh Pious lord of run the ball and continuity, explain to me why, and how, you are so against all of the very things that you claim, and rail on endlessly about, to be so in support of.
Yes, his completion % sucks. No shit. Tell me something I don’t actually know. Something I can think about without looking at math.
Yes. I know we’ve scored 13 points with him at the helm. Uhhhhhh, I’m um, yeah dude I’m quite fucking aware of that. Really, I assure you. My awareness of that is in crystal clear form because, I’m not sure if you know this, but from time to time, I do actually glance up at the scoreboard. Occasionally.
I pretty much see everything that you see.
The difference between us is……..you want his body thrown off a cliff because he disappointed you, and I’m over here like…….. okay, okay, I see what you did there that was cool as fuck, oooh yeah maybe don’t, yeah don’t do that again cause, yeah that was bad. I like this, I see what you did here good job, alright, I’m feeling ya, no, no no no no yeah don’t do that, holy shit that right there was amazing good work……okay,
Okay ya know what, I’ve decided I can work with you.
You take the same approach as every Browns GM, coach, Front office string puller or person in charge since 99.
Nope, kill him.
Nope, kill him.
Nope, kill him.
Nope, kill him.
Nope, oh fuck kill that one twice.
Nope, kill him.
Nope, kill him, and kill his family too for even make me think about him.
Nope, kill him.
Nope, kill him.
Tell me soup, and please, be detailed, tell me how well THAT line of thinking has gone for us?
Also explain how maybe, just maaaaaaaybe, if for once, I dunno just spitballin’ here, if we did it another way, just one time, it WOULDN’T work.
I’m all ears.
January 1, 2016 at 3:48 am #3448ShooterModeratorAlso, before I’m done…………
I love and respect you and a bucket list item for me is having a beer or 9 and watching a Browns game with you someday.
But you have no idea what a screen is.
I completely believe that you believe that you know exactly what a screen is.
But you don’t. That’s probably the biggest thing that makes debating with a person like you difficult. It’s not that you don’t think you’re you’re wrong, it’s that you know you’re right.
Any challenge to that line of thinking is dealt with in only one way.
Nope, kill him.
It’s like you’re on a rickshaw and pissed that you don’t move at the same speed as the rest of the traffic, so your solution to the issue is to shoot the poor bastard pulling it in the back of the head, then get all pissed off that you stopped, somehow find a way to hire another guy, and then get all pissed off at him because now you’re behind, and you realize that not only you can’t catch up, but you’re moving at the same speed as the guy who you shot, so now you shoot him too and then scream that you can’t figure out why you are where you are and steam over the fact that you never reached your destination.
It never actually crosses your mind that if you’d just bought a piece of shit car from the start, you’dve not only gotten where you wanted to be, but you’dve gotten there a helluva lot quicker….. and no one would be dead.
Basically, when you argue with me, you take the approach of the Browns.
I’m the patriots.
Scream all ya like and call me a cheater, but you’e always gonna be broke down and stuck on the side of the road when it comes to debating me. I’ve got a Jeep, you have like, I dunno just a bunch of dead Amish people and an attitude or some shit.
I can’t argue with that Soup. I can’t. I want to, but all I can do is hold up my hand sand say “well……….” as I shrug.
January 1, 2016 at 10:09 am #3456IceKeymasterTrade him now! His stock will never be higher. Having the will to win for 4 hours on a Sunday is awesome, imagine how good he would be if he had that desire over the past 2 seasons and during the offseason when the lights aren’t on him. He needs an organization that has the bandwidth and experience handling ‘challenging’ players, we are not that team. I honestly think his career could be amazing if he were in Dallas. Spend a year backing up Romo (and probably playing in week 3 when Romo goes down) and having all the support they can give him. Meanwhile we can take that high 1st rounder and turn it into a player that our staff doesn’t need to worry about 6 days of the week.
January 2, 2016 at 2:25 am #3457DawgSoldierParticipantTrade Manzeil is the way I’d go. Heck I’d trade just for a swap of picks and not picks themselves. Say Dallas gives the Browns there 1st and the Browns give them Johnny boy and their 2nd.

January 3, 2016 at 9:50 am #3464IceKeymasterI’d be fantastic with that trade Soldier. In light of what Manziel has done this weekend, he’s not only lost the trust of the entire organization he’s lost the trust of the fans.
January 3, 2016 at 9:49 pm #3517mike barnesParticipantI’d keep the turd and let him sit behind whom ever plays next year he just wants to go to Dallas, make him honor his deal then dump his butt to the jags or s.f.
January 3, 2016 at 11:54 pm #3530ShooterModeratorReports are now coming out (albeit through Tony Gorssi so, take it for what it is) that he came to practice this week drunk.
I’m done with this idiot too now.

why besides a paycheck would you want to be a coach / gm / qb here in cleveland? if you can still collect and not play, then you are doing something right.
let’s be honest though….haslem doesn’t care about manziel. he only cares about that jersey that is being sold off his shelves. From now on, I will refer to them as the Browns Corporation or BrownCorp for short.
Hue Jackson is a loser.

Pettine shot that down in his last press conference. He really didn’t have any reason to sugar coat anything there, he had just gotten the email on his phone that he was fired. I sincerely doubt Manziel came to practice drunk. I doubt any unverified Tony Grossi rumor. That guy is a shitstain.
January 4, 2016 at 9:36 am #3548IceKeymasterNot only is he winning me over because of it, he’s doing it while making me think that a QB in round 1 is totally asinine.
He has it.
He
has
“it”.
Write it down.A quote that will live in infamy…
January 4, 2016 at 10:08 am #3556mike barnesParticipantJff is done he may be a baller but the kid can not be trusted what a waste
January 4, 2016 at 1:16 pm #3564MDP Sack AttackParticipantMissed his treatment yesterday, showed up for exit interviews today.
Honestly, if he did fuck off and go to Vegas, I can’t blame him. He was probably done here, he knows it, and the regime change sealed the deal. He knows he’ll get a second chance somewhere else, so why even bother.
January 4, 2016 at 10:30 pm #3606IceKeymasterAs I sit here, I’m wondering if 30 year old Johnny Manziel, who’s been out of the NFL for 5 years, regrets any of the stupid shit he did while he was in Cleveland.
Nope. Daddy’s still got money. Fuck it.

Nope. Daddy’s still got money. Fuck it.Just like that DB who killed people when drunk and high and ran away to Mexico when on probation, this guy has no responsibility and doesn’t feel bad for poor decision made. Johnny probably has affluenza.
Hue Jackson is a loser.
