IceKeymasterAt this point my feelings to NFL rules are similar to my feelings about the tax code. Let’s throw the whole thing out and completely rewrite it simpler. The fact that at least 2 of the networks have former officials or heads of officiating on call shows you that the rules are too convoluted.
Technology can solve so many of these problems. G-force sensors can be easily implanted into player’s helmets which would unequivocally show if there was a helmet to helmet collision. A side effect is that they would also greatly improve player safety as we would know if there was a hit that could cause a concussion. Put a small sensor in each point of the ball that will show the exact position of the football at any given moment. It would be so easy to know if the football went past the goal line. More rules isn’t the fix, it’s more technology.

soupParticipantBurfict’s hit was intentional. With James Harrison too old and slow he’s clearly the dirtiest player in the NFL. It isn’t even a question. He’s a pile of trash. They have a video angle of him driving his knee into Ben’s shoulder after his sack.
The biggest rule change needs to be eating the whistle. That game wasn’t decidied on those calls – it was decided when they took Shazier’s defensive TD away with a quick whistle on a fumble. Had they made the proper call – Ben doesn’t get hurt and Steelers easily win.

Instead they put doctors on the sideline who look for symptoms – doctors who are paid for and by the NFL – the same guys who don’t want a marketable QB to miss a play.
If they ruled that hit intentional, they should have ejected the guy right there and then. If you are intentionally hurting someone, then that is assault and should be reported to law enforcement officials. This is the only way you are going to get this out of the game – or go back to the old fashion way and allow these hits – Just inform all players these hits will be allowed and you will be forced to keep your head up.

Yesterday Burfict was suspended for the first 3 games next year for repeatedly being a dirty scumbag.

Good for the NFL – 5 years ago they are giving him defensive player of the year.
