Cutting Ward and Sheard was idiotic. I’m really hoping this regime is smart enough to realize we’ll never move forward until we build upon the roster we have…even if the players aren’t “their guys” or a textbook fit for the system they want to run.
ward has had a phenomenal career…everyone here knew it was a bad move, but there you go.

Jordan Norwood – Browns UDFA cut.
TJ Ward – 2nd round pick we let walk in FA
Jabaal Sheard – 2nd round pick we let walk in FA.
All 3 in the AFC Championship game. Nice personnel moves eh?Benji is BETTER than Norwood as a punt returner and WR.
Sheard was a FA and WANTED to sign elsewhere, same with Sheard. The Browns can’t make folks resign. And cutting Norwood in favor of benji is a no brainer.Try again Soup this is pretty bad.

And Sheard was far and away our most talented OLB. Norwood is also an incredible talent and only a moron would think he was okay to cut. Glad Norwood and Ward get to play in a Super Bowl.
Not good enough to be on our roster but 2 of the 3 are good enough to start/see significant time on the AFC Super Bowl representative. The other was good enough to START for the freaking New England Patriots. Meanwhile we get the #2 pick in the draft. Hopefully we get Goff and finally be smart with real talent.

Norwood never had a qb to throw to him….we never know how good our wr truly are.
Sheard never had stable coaching and was always being forced into positions where he would not accelerate.

Ward’s contract was up and he was killing us in penalties and coverage. I didn’t want to see him leave either, but shit happens. Norwood wasn’t in the NFL 2 years ago. Nice come back, but to say he added any value to the roster would be “soupED”
