Decide for yourself. I present the evidence.

    1. Gordon is listed as a starting WR for this preseason game despite not playing football in years
    2. Reports are swarming that multiple teams have interest.
3.Browns reportedly are saying that they are “not looking to trade him”
4.Browns just added another WR to the squad despite not removing one. Josh Boyce, who played with RG3 in high school

Based on that evidence, I think we might be ready to trade him.
    1. He’s starting this week even though he’s only had a couple weeks of practice over the last 2 years. That means we’re putting his skills on display for someone. If they just wanted to see how good he is, the coaches would see it during practice.
    2. The only people that would leak that multiple teams have interest are the Browns or Gordon’s agent, and only if that party were actively looking to push a trade.
    3. The Browns said they “aren’t looking to trade him” but didn’t say they would turn down a trade if the right offer were made.
    4. One of the WR’s is about to get tossed from the roster to make room for Bryce.

I’ll repeat my stance on this.

Trade him? For what? His value is non-existent. There is nothing to gain by trading him, yet potentially a ton to lose. You keep him around and you put him on the field in week 5. If he has a monster comeback and stays clean, the Browns are all the sudden LOADED at the receiver position.

If he sucks, gets hurt, takes an advil……then you just release him. No harm no foul.

But you don’t keep him all this time and then do it now, and you don’t trade him because you’re going to get a football rack and a few jockstraps. Both are just dumb.

What’s his value? a 5th rounder? A 4th? Why do that if you’re the Browns? They waited all this time, and NOW they’re gonna trade him? That just doesn’t make any sense. If someone offers a 1st or a 2nd, sure, but no one is going to offer that for him. Not even close.

You play him because he hasn’ seen a game in well over a year and he’s ready to play. That’s why.

@shooter You trade him IF you get what you want in return. If you don’t, then you say “I told you a long time ago we’re not trying to trade him” and you keep him.

@soup you may be right, but that only explains 1 of those 4 ‘coincidences’.

The game doesn’t matter (so to speak). Throw him into the fire as he’s the most talenteed WR on the team. If he can get 2 practice games in then great. that’s why you do it. You benchmark him in 3 Q with RG3 against the opponents #1 D.

    2. The only people that would leak that multiple teams have interest are the Browns or Gordon’s agent, and only if that party were actively looking to push a trade.

Or a bored writer waiting for pre-season to finish

    3. The Browns said they “aren’t looking to trade him” but didn’t say they would turn down a trade if the right offer were made.

This statement is true for 99% of NFL players

4.Browns just added another WR to the squad despite not removing one. Josh Boyce, who played with RG3 in high school

Those are called camp bodies. We were severely depleted at talent at the position. Oh, and it’s preseason.

Josh Botce really doesn’t belong in this conversation. He’s done nothing in 3 years, and has been cut twice this year alone. He was boroughs in as a camp body, possibly as motivation to the rookies, nothing more.

Word is, Browns want at least a second for him. No NFL team will pay that, especially with his track record.

We are kind of stuck with him, and him with us. Which is fine, because he’s a RFA next year, and he has plenty to prove. Good for us, yeah?

Word coming out now is that we were asking for a 2nd and more. Good. I’d be happy if someone offered us that and we pulled the trigger. I’m also glad they didn’t give in a take a 7th for him.
