I think not countering Schwartz was setting a precedent. We made him a huge offer. He said he deserved more and went to FA. They offered him less so he came back. We said screw you. We don’t play that way. It proved we make good offers, and proved we don’t let others take advantage of us.

Personally I would’ve countered at a deal less than his best FA offer to prove a point.

Schwartz was the only one that bugged me. Don’t get me wrong, Mack leaving was devastating, but I’d accepted that he wanted nothing to do with this team (who could blame him) and was gone. But Schwartz, I dunno, I don’t think they handled that right. It seemed to be a case of cutting off your nose to spite your face. It made us much worse and it wouldn’t have cost us that much at all.

He is so bad he spends half the game on his back, legs up like a dead cockroach.

As accurate a description of a player that I have heard in some time.

    He just has no value.

Yes, Cam Erving is definitely an upgrade over Mack.

    Hue Jackson is a loser.

You are aware that there was nothing we could do to keep Mack right? Because your tone has that of one that wants to lay blame on the Browns brass for his departure. Correct me if I’m wrong on that one.

We had Mack signed to a contract that made him the highest paid center in the NFL. The HIGHEST. He still opted out of his deal and walked. He wanted to play on literally any other team than this one, and for less money. There was nothing the front office could do. Again, with us he was the highest paid center in the league.

As far as Erving goes, he was drafted because the previous staff knew Mack was gone so they anted to plan ahead and get a guy in here. They just failed to realize that he’s fucking awful. That staff has all been fired.

What parts of this do you not understand? Cause I’ll gladly help you along in the areas that you’re lacking in. Lemme know.

No, he’s not aware in the least. Like most Browns fans he doesn’t pay attention to the details. You read comments anywhere and people bring it up. Maybe if we offered him less money than Atlanta he’d have played for us – that’s about the level of these people’s logic.

Shit drives me crazy. It’s an ill-informed take and opinion.

Be pissed that Mack left, I have no problem with that I’m pissed about it too, but I understand there was nothing that could be done. He tried to leave once in FA and we matched the offer that made him the highest paid player in the entire league at his position. What more could possibly be done? Really? He voided the rest of his contract and left. I’d really like to know what some fans would have suggested. Pay him 40 million a year?

Then the worst part is, people will read that, and still sit there and say the same stupid shit “our Front Office sucks, never should’ve let Mack leave”.

    Hand, open, face, SLAP!
