The 2016 NFL regular season is almost over now. With everything that’s transpired since the NFL draft, surely the loyal viewership of brownsfootballtalk.com would’ve had at least one article from the website’s Senior NFL Draft Analyst – regardless of whether or not it pertains to football. This has undoubtedly left many of you asking the same question, “Where’s Wunkle?”
Well, rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated . . . and since you asked the question, I’ll be glad to tell you. I’ve been working my job as a mechanical designer in Cleveland, attending church services on Wednesdays and Sundays (which includes helping out with the music on Sunday afternoon Hispanic services), enjoying our first grandchild (she just turned 8 months old) and enjoying a new family activity with my wife and daughter – sessions at a local pistol range. There has also been some real-life drama within the family that needed to be addressed. Nothing life threatening . . . just having to deal with two vehicles being totaled within a six month period and a 27 year old HVAC system that needed a total replacement – save the duct work. But, hey, life goes on, right?
As for our beloved Brownies, I’ve watched enough of them to see that (A) we’re no closer to solving the starting quarterback position than we were at this time last year – when we could’ve had Carson Wentz, (B) we still haven’t adequately addressed the holes in the offensive line, (C) the defensive front seven needs a run stuffer and at least one game-changing pass rusher, (D) the secondary needs serious help and (E) Ray Horton needs to quit screwing around with the 3-4 and go exclusively with the 4-3 as a base defense.
Outside of football, a lot has happened both nationally and internationally. We’ve elected a new U.S. President to replace the farce that’s been in the White House these past eight long years, a number of celebrities have gone the way of the grave, terrorist attacks have been sprouting up in numerous places, Israel is under criticism and sanctions by the United Nations and we’re still waiting on all those Hollywood nut jobs to hold true to their word and leave the country for good due to the election results. I guess the latter was too good to be true.
As for what’s upcoming on brownsfootballtalk.com, I’ll be submitting my series of mock drafts between now and Draft Day. I’ll even publish another edition or two of “Ask Wunkle“. I’ll also be giving our viewership in depth analysis on various perspective draftees for the Browns and reviewing other NFL teams’ needs as we move closer to April. Last but not least, I’m also planning on a second edition of “Wunkle on Wunkle“. So look out Browns fans, because Wunkle’s back and he’s even snarkier than ever!
