IceKeymasterTechnically I guess the Browns didn’t fire him. IIRC at the time it was well known that Balt would be starting the franchise over and the current staff would be gutted. My memory of the time is somewhat clouded because I was in college. I remember it being just a big middle finger to everyone; the fans, the coaches, the players, the city, everybody.
Belichick certainly learned a lot from his time in Cleveland. Can’t deny that.

ShooterModeratorI’ve argued the same point with people hundreds of times. Art Modell fired him after they moved to Baltimore.
He was fired for Ted Marchibroda (snicker).

soupParticipantJust as the Browns did NOT let Alex Mack walk. The Browns did NOT fire Belichick. It’s an outright lie by the media because they are worthless dogshit.

Don’t get me started on Mack. The Browns fleeced an extra 2 years out of him when he wanted to leave ASAP and the media acts like they kicked him to the curb. When a player opts out of a contract that makes him the highest paid player at his position, there’s not much you can do.
