soupParticipantWe released Jonathon cooper last year so he won’t be coming back. (Maybe week 15 release?).
I wasn’t aware about the hooker injury (now I sound like a pimp). Anyway, I was hoping to land Garrett #1 and Hooker #12. He could definitely TJ Ward it and drop to round 2.
The only three areas I’d be cautious about:
1. Trubitsky. 13 games just isn’t enough. He throws a great deep ball, but anyone with that limited experience scares me unless you are talking 3rd round or later.
2. The Terminator in round 5. I think he’s going to be a very good back, my only issue is RB isn’t an issue for us so I don’t know that I see the fit. So no issue with the player himself, just with the position. Make sense?
3. The tight end. I think we have something in Devalve. The kid can catch. Again, a position thing more than player.

1 On this QB class like last years it is about experiance transferring to the next level. And I think Trubisky actually leads in that category. I figure folks will disagree with me on that but that’s where I am coming from.
2 Maybe I am wrong but IMO Hue wants a bruising back like he had with J.Hill in Cinci to be a closer for this offence. The backs on this roster don’t have that quality IMO. That and it would just would be so poetic to get a big bruising back from Pitt to unleash on the Steelers as they routeinly draft Buckeyes and torment Browns fans with. Not a reason to draft the guy just a cherry on top of it. 😀
3 I like DeValve but this kid is more in the mold of guys that are ASSEST in the running game as well. And 2 TE sets are not uncommon in Jackson’s offence.

soupParticipant1. Totally respect that line of thought. Pro game translation is what matters.
2. Excellent point on Connor. He’d be a nice 3rd back. And 5th round would be a value pick.
3. Excellent points on the TE reasoning. Hopefully we’ll pound the ball this year like I’ve been begging for years.

Took the words right out of my mouth. So long and thanks for the fish.
Regarding your mock, if Trubisky falls to #12 and Hooker to #33, I’ll drink myself into a 4 day coma. But I just don’t see that as a possibility.

First off, only 2 OSU players?!? The quality of NFL players coming out of OSU must really be sliding, eh Dawgsoldier? 😉
Where do you get the cap hit numbers for the signed players? Is that their hit from last year? If we sign Pryor his cap hit for 2017 will be at least 3x that number.

DawgSoldierParticipantthats how did the offseason
IIRC I did 11 mill a year with 40% guaranteed for pryor… the site does all the cap calculation stuff i could do that my self but if a site wants to do math calculations for me. I am not gonna say no.

Fair enough.
Alshon Jeffrey has said he wants to go to a team to win now. I guess we can scratch him off the list. I think that Pryor is gone as well.
