soupParticipantI agree. That said, it also shows how the announcing guys have as much knowledge as we do. No more at all. Finally all the Kizer praise stopped because he’s awful. Though that was obvious to anyone watching him get benched. He’s the worst QB prospect since Manziel and on the level of trash as Geno Smith. Hopefully he was never on the browns board, but if anything good came of this – if he was on the board – hopefully he’s off now

IceKeymasterThe underwear olympics are important to a point. It should NOT take a guy you had pegged as a 4th round player and jump him to round 2. It shows you which guys bust their ass and take this shit seriously and which guys have coasted on talent their whole life without having to actually work for it. When Garrett throws up 33 lifts at the bench you know that guy lives in the gym.
As for the programming, I actually enjoy it because a lot of the names you’ve never heard of finally get discussed.

ParticipantI agree with Shoter, almost unwatchable. The only thing I take away from the combine is when a player doesn’t perform as expected. For instance, you think a WR is a speedster and he runs a 4.55 40? Red flag. Does it mean he’s not a good WR? No, but it means he’s not Desean Jackson.
Now, does a 4.22 40 make me want John Ross any earlier? No. He was billed as a speedster, and he proved it.
In other words, it’s proof that the film is accurate and not the result of a bad competition, but it’s not proof of football talent.

That’s an excellent way of stating it.
What they’ve done in games is so much more important than the combine that it almost isn’t worth mentioning. I’ve heard a couple ex-gm’s say that the most important parts of the combine are the interviews and the medical check. I think that’s probably accurate.
