Njoku was drafted in the 1st round for some reason. If he can’t even start on this depth chart then the FO made a SERIOUS mistake in drafting him.

I agree. Just because a guy plays TE at UM doesn’t mean he’s the next Tony Gonzalez.
Give Njoku a break he’s not even played a real game yet let alone a season he’ll be fine with time. Britt i’m more worried about he’s a vet who should be showing more with the money we saved by cutting Joe Haden we’ve got the capital to sign a vet cut this weekend.
I guess we’re showing interest in Jermaine Kearse. Too bad we couldn’t get that to happen before the game tonight but…I’d be OK with him. Odd man out now that Seattle is pretty stacked at receiver.
I am not tearing him down…. But he is a rookie too…. We really need someone with good hands…. Kizer will look bad plain and simply because of how bad this writer core is.

Njoku is going to be a beast so let’s pump the breaks on him a bit.
His biggest problem is he’s rawer than a steak that’s still on the cow. He’s not gonna Jimmy Graham his way into the league right out of the gates. It’s just not gonna happen so don’t expect it to. Tony Gonzalez he is not.
But he’s big, he’s fast, and he’s a contortionist with two humongous catchers mitts for hands that are made of velvet flypaper.
Weeks 1-8 I expect everyone to be saying “seriously with this guy? A 1st rounder are you kidding me?”
Weeks 9-16 I expect everyone to be saying “seriously with this guy are you kidding me!!!!!!!!!?”
