As a Browns fan I am happy and feel like this was lucky.
As an NFL fan, this is a very serious violation and we should have been punished more. Basically, the punishment was nothing. But you know that there was more to this story. The guy he texted literally asked out of his contract. A son of a Super Bowl Head Coach.
There’s something strange in the neighborhood.
I think the last thing the NFL wants to do is take draft picks away from a club that has been in dire straights for 2 decades. I’m not sure what effect suspending Farmer for the 1st 4 games of the season will have on the team… by that time the team is already formed, though that is a good time to snipe players off of other team’s practice squads.
Unless a major injury to a key player happens, it’ll likely only be minor changes to the bottom end of the roster.
