That said. Zero development from last week. The guy we saw today is what I expected when we drafted him.I’ll preface this by saying I didn’t see the game. I listened to the whole thing on the radio, and from the sounds of it, I’m glad I wasn’t able to watch.
That said, your statement is still ridiculous. Development doesn’t come THAT fast. He’s extremely young, and making just his second start. Let’s give him more than 5 minutes to figure out the NFL. The migraine, meh. It’s not good, but if it’s a one time thing nobody will remember it this time next year. If it becomes a habit, then we can start to worry. But the sky’s not falling just yet.

ParticipantMan, you all should know there’s no gray area with Soup…it’s either black or it’s white.
That said, when you expect a rookie QB to pass the ball 764 times against a defense that basically bitchslapped a veteran QB the week before the same way, it goes beyond the QB. Fact is, he had no business throwing that much. And if you were expecting a mistake-free rookie playing what could likely be the best defense we play all year and pass the ball every damn play…
Run the fucking football. Especially when it’s not working through the air. It’s almost as if Hue was trying to be sneaky with the run game. Shove the ball down their throats! That’s the type of team we’re supposedly trying to build, right?

I said show me improvement – his biggest issue is holding the ball too long. He didn’t even feign correcting that and he held it longer. The guy from yesterday is exactly why I was so mad we used such a high pick on him. It’s what I expect each week.

ParticipantI will say this: a migraine (a true migraine, not that bullshit the wife pulls when you’re getting frisky) is one of the worst conditions a human can go through.
I knew a guy who would get them so badly that he had the bathroom in the middle of his home set up with no lighting and away from as sound as much as possible, because if any of that reached him, the unspeakable pain was intensified tenfold. He would literally leave knuckle marks punching the door frame, and broke his hand several times to distract the pain from his head. Oh, and he was a steelworker, so there’s really no questioning his toughness.
To call Kizer a pussy because he had a migraine is a tad unfair unless you really know what he goes through…yeah?
September 19, 2017 at 8:52 am #9479Ice
KeymasterYeah, what DPD said. When I get a migraine my day is DONE. Straight to bed, even put blinders over my eyes because the amount of light that my eyelids let in when shut is painful. Even a very mild one that doesn’t completely incapacitate me puts a fog over my mind making me slow to react and think. No one can play football in those conditions. I’m amazed he came back at all. I guarantee you he was still feeling the effects when he came back and that it affected his play because they don’t go away in 30 minutes no matter what medicine you take.
September 19, 2017 at 9:11 am #9480Dawg E. Dawg
ParticipantHe punted himself into a corner with this. Don’t know if you guys saw, but he’s said he typically gets 1-2 a year, and they’re typically 5-6 months apart.
Not saying migraines are completely predictable, but with him coming out and saying that, it’ll be a real bad look if it happens again. Though, I doubt that it does.

No, I was talking about migraines.
I’ve never suffered from a migraine before, but I’ve had a former girlfriend and a few friends that I’ve known over the years that have and I know and have seen the effects of them and how utterly debilitating they are to the sufferers.
That said, I know dick about migraines. By your statements it’s quite easy to deduce that you now dick about migraines too. The difference between the two of us is 1) I readily and freely admit my lack of knowledge on the subject while you are writing a comical doctoral thesis on the subject that you are actually taking seriously. And 2) I don’t mock people who suffer from things simply because I do not, and therefore feel it’s made up, while you clearly do. What you’re doing is the equivalent of looking at someone with epilepsy while they’re having a seizure and saying “knock off that shaking and drooling you pussy, there’s fucking medicine you can take to prevent that”.
I’d like to point out that both of those things make you look like a gigantic, ignorant douchebag.

Instead of staying ignorant, start researching what goes in your body and the effects it has. Read her book Deep Nutrition then try it. Give it a month, you’ll b shocked. She is basically a nutritionist. I have no doubt about the value of nutrition in sports, but her ideas about migraines have not been through studies or tests and are not peer reviewed. They are just her opinions on the subject.
What you should really be saying is “I have a friend who had migraines and found a pill that prevents them, so I just assumed it would work on anyone. That’s why I was frustrated that Kizer would leave the game with a migraine. I thought he forgot or refused to take a simple pill. I was wrong, now I realize there is no magic migraine medicine that works on everyone so I retract my statement about Kizer being a pussy.”
September 19, 2017 at 4:06 pm #9505soup
ParticipantNo, she’s a doctor that did a ton of studying on nutrition after she came to the realization as a PCP that doctors nutrition courses are all but non existent and full of shit.
And that pill – Terrell Davis took it before games too. He supposedly forgot before the super bowl then took a knee to the head which triggered it. (Imagine that, a knee to the head causing your head to hurt). So the pills exist.
As for the doctor I’ve posted here, go ahead and ignore it that’s fine. But know that you choose what you eat. I advise you to learn about what you are putting in your body. Read ingredients. Also research online about vegetable oil, canola oil, etc and the effects they have on you. I guarantee you if you cut way back on carbs/refined sugars and cut out vegetable oils completely (all kinds) and switched only to healthy oils in a month you will feel better than you have in years.

ParticipantBig pharma has you doggies trained beautifully.
A headache, including migraine, consists of constricted blood vessels in the brain (call it inflammation in the blood vessels). When people take an Aleve it relaxes them and eases inflammation.
Canola oil
Vegetable oil
Soy oil
Cottonseed oil
Sunflower oil
Corn oil
Grapeseed oil
Safflower oil
Non butter spread like margarineExcess sugar
Excess flour/bread especially white (carbs are treated like sugar in your body)All CAUSE inflammation. Eliminate those foods and greatly reduce sugar and inflammation reduces in your body making it less likely to get things like migraines and more likely for your body to heal. Why? Because in the case of the oils your immune system attacks them. Those oils also lower brain function. They are inhibitors and basically attack your brain.
Why? Because the processing of them adds a 3rd chemical to it which turns into a trans fat which is ultra deadly. This happens when heated. So when Canola oil says “no trans fat” it’s a half truth. As soon as it’s heated it turns into trans fat. That’s what actually clogs arteries.
Science can be your friend. If you change what you put in your body you eliminate needing big pharma (which can destroy your body).
That’s a small crash course for you in the way the body works with food.
Feel free to look up Tom Brady diet. There was a big article on it a few days ago.

ParticipantSoup, 2 things: 1.) there are multiple things that can cause headaches beyond just diet. Genetics, exercise level, stress, on and on. medicine is not black and white, there is no cure all for everybody.
2.). WTF does any of this have to do with Deshone Kizer? Do you know what his diet his? I don’t. He could be a vegan or vegetarian or or could eat 3 steaks a day or he could be whatever those people are that only eat what cavemen ate. I don’t know and I don’t care. It has NOTHING TO DO WITH FOOTBALL.
If your argument is that Kizer is a pussy because he didn’t take his magic pill and he ate canola oil on his eggs Sunday morning (both of which you have 0 knowledge of whether or not they occurred) then you’ve reached a new level of ridiculous. And I’m talking a level that scientist previously thought unreachable. I mean, this is so far out there it would blow Neil Degrase Tysons mind.

You forgot that genetics can be changed through diet.
That’s an exact quote btw. “Genetics can be changed through diet”.
What do you suppose I need to eat to be 6′-5″? This whole 5-10 thing has pretty much run it’s course for me and I’d love to finish my life as just a large, physically imposing man. Also, blue eyes. I’d love some blue eyes. These dark brown darlings have melted some hearts over the years, but I’d like some piercing blues to really change my look. What do you think that’d take, maybe more broccoli? Should I start pounding down lean cuts of salmon and tuna to go from brown to blue?
Also, nearly 20 years together and 3 kids is a testament to my prowess in the adult activities arena, but I’d like to send my wife out on a high note the next 20 or so years by just dropping a meat hog out of my boxers. What sort of herbal/vegetable concoction do you think I need to start swilling daily to Boogie Nights-ize my nether region?
If I lay off the Red Bull will my hair start growing back?
I’m so excited about the possibilities of the future with my newfound knowledge. I started off in this world as a little man with sandy brown hair and dark brown eyes, and I’m gonna go out as a blue-eyed giant with a full head of thick black hair and an enormous, dinosaur sized thundercock. I don’t know about you guys but I am pumped as fuck about that.
I can’t wait to get started.
