432 years old and injured more than McCown. Aside from that:

    Delhome
    Dilfer
    Garcia

It’s time to grow our own

Depends on what your goal is. Do you want to win a couple games this season and maybe next season (assuming he stays healthy, which is not likely)? If 0-16 is absolutely not acceptable, you go get Romo. If 0-16 is the goal (and I’m starting to believe it is), you stand pat and see what exactly you have in Kessler (if anything). I think we all agree he can be a decent back up, but can he be a franchise QB?

As Soup pointed out, we’ve tried the washed up Vet thing before (Dilfer, Delhomme, Garcia, Griffin III) without success. The time to sign Romo was at the conclusion of the 2010 season after he went 1-5. He spent most of 2015 on IR (the reason the Cowboys were in the market for a QB in the 2015 draft) and has spent 2016 on the IR as well. Tony’s a great guy, but unless he were brought in as the back up to mentor the heir apparent, there would be no real reason to bring him to the Browns as far as I’m concerned.

Tony Romo is not old or washed up. He’s injury prone, that’s a big difference. When he’s playing he’s a VERY good QB.

Still, it doesn’t look like he’s a very good fit to the offense we’ve installed. He likes scoring in double digits, sometimes far over our current comfort level of 13 points. Imagine the turnovers of McCown, but with way more production and a ton of points to go with it. Forget that!

He’ll be 37 years old. Since 2015 he’s played a total of 4 NFL gams of a possible 25. He has 5 TDs and 7 ints.

No need to get another washed up QB to win 4 gams when we can develop a young guy (whether it’s a 1st round pick next year or Kessler)
