I have no idea how to react. I don’t understand. It looks like, for the first time in 2 decades, we have a legitimate QB. 3rd down? Meaningless. Drops? Meaningless. Fucking 17-23 and had 3 drops? What????

Don’t you have a Gameballs and Goats thread to make? That always normalizes you.

His arm talent is off the charts. Was also impressed with his pocket presence. He knew those please inside and out. @ice pointed on one of his throws he got to read #4 before most of our QBs have gotten to read 2.

The line looked far better with him in the pocket due to his insane release. Can’t wait to see his release time

How good was Mayfield last night? In 2017 Tom Brady lead the NFL with Pro Football Focus QB rating of 94.9. Essentially means he’s the reason they win.

It calculates their impact on the game and is a much better indicator of rating than the one the NFL uses.

Baker Mayfield last night was 94.9

Soup you’ve been upset at the defense, but look what happened to the defense when Mayfield came in. 1 1/2 quarters without Mayfield, defense allows 14 points. 2 1/2 quarters with him, defense allows 3 points. It turns out that defense and offense are somehow linked.

I gave them massive credit in gameballs and goats. It’s the energy. After they blew the lead promptly, Baker went 15 plays in nearly 7 minutes. D said “oh fuck yeah, time to end this shit once and for all. It’s on us now.”

Chain reaction of a great vibe. Assuming Baker starts next week, if his first drive is a TD I think the D will improve vastly due to that energy. They’ll feel more comfortable and less burdened

I don’t think it’s just the energy, it’s the fact that the offense stays on the field for more than 3 plays and doesn’t stick the defense with really bad field position.

“As soon as the draft’s No. 1 overall pick entered the game, slow-developing sacks gave way to pinpoint darts into tight windows.”
