I don’t need to look at his stats to see he is struggling. What worries me is he will alienate his receivers if he keeps leaving them out to dry with these high passes. He had a few tipped balls last night – i wonder if that is getting to him.

Also, let us keep in mind – Gregg William’s knows Baker and he was throwing some schemes at him that really may have disrupted his play. The Jets defense was a step ahead last night. We are lucky they didnt have an offense.

If you paid attention you’d notice they completely changed the offense from last year because Kitchens is an idiot. Last year was quick reads. This year it’s deep drops and wait

Moving past Soup……..yes. And I’ll nbe talking about it later today.

I don’t know what the issue is, but he looks indecisive. He isn’t stepping up into the pocket, and he’s holding onto the ball way too long. Am I worried? Not yet, but it needs to be fixed. If he comes out next week looking the same…….then I’ll be worried.

As of right now it’s just something that’s noticeable, and hopefully just beginning of the season issues as we implement new parts of the offense.

With all his weapons, I think he’s too focused on hitting OBJ and Landry over the top for huge chunks of yardage every play, and overlooking safe plays underneath. Especially next week, with the Rams, he needs to focus on checking down to Chubb and Johnson more often.

He’s also rolling out quite a bit, often right into pass rushers. He needs to step up more often or just throw it away. Extremely common with young QBs.

He’s also pressing his throws, especially early. Odell is fast with a ton of range, so if throws are regularly hitting the turf two yards ahead of his hands, that’s telling. Learning to take something off is, again, something young QBs struggle with.

I don’t think it’s a different offense, I think Kitchens is just opening the playbook a bit further in Mayfield’s second year. Last year it was a lot of simple, quick one or two read plays, and a lot of gadget plays, designed to hide a rookie and keep the pressure off. Now he’s asking Baker to drop back and make reads. So far he’s not responding well

We had one quick read throw yesterday. An 89 yard TD. Instead of doing quick reads 80% of the time and slowly opening it, he all but eliminated the quick reads and made it long developing plays.

    That’s a complete offensive change.

Lack of trust with the line.

Lack of trust with his arm.

This has been a problem in Cleveland well before Baker. It’s what make players great and not so great. Hope he gets over it or it will be a long season.

They also have stopped doing run heavy formations and doing play action passes out of them and running out them.

Baker is a VERY good play action passer. Get away from that and doing this big 12 air raid BS needs to stop.

We had one quick read throw yesterday.

You have no clue whatsoever what the gameplan was or what the play calls actually were, so making that statement is unfiltered lunacy. You just happened to “see” one articular quick read. Have you considered that perhaps, I dunno just maybe, instead of taking that quick pass or short throw, Baker is getting a bit ahead of himself, saying “nope fuck that I’m going long” and trying a little too hard to force things?

Is that a possibility? Noooooooo, of course not. That can’t possibly be it. Fire everyone!

Keep believing what you want. We are underperforming in an awful way. Easiest first two week games we ever had and we are 1-1 with an offense that looks awful.

Or son charles was a meh H=back last year and currently a FA. As the Browns han NO H-Back on the roster and the FB they signed is on IR I’d resign Charles. TODAY

1st Q and a half. Vast majority of passes have been quick release and Baker looks sharp. Shocker huh? Pay attention. I was 100% correct in games 1 and 2

Self proclaimed he was correct. Ravens ran the ball 32 times yesterday and lost.

I am not sure what the issue with Baker is but he doesn’t look good at all. He looks like he is in over his head and very indecisive.
There are way too many plays where he hangs onto the ball too long and also throws that aren’t accurate and his receivers are paying the price.
I don’t have the answer but something needs to be done.
Remember though, this is still early in year 2. Things can be fixed and it isn’t the time to completely panic.
    No one should be fired.
