IceKeymasterI hate to see DOOOOK become the heel. He’s a good guy, a good team guy.
But yeah, when we can get the best RB in the game for zilch we’re gonna get him. Duke can get traded after week 8.

ShooterModeratorI hate to see DOOOOK become the heel. He’s a good guy, a good team guy.
Is he though?
I mean let’s think about this. He’s been on the Browns for 4 years. Never rushed for over 400 yards and he’s scored 13 TD’s. John Dorsey awarded that performance with a fat contract extension that pays him in the top 10 of NFL running backs (say that part twice)……and he’s gonna bitch?
He’s gonna say he wants to be wanted and ask for a trade?

DawgSoldierParticipantHe should of kept his mouth shut till at least Midseason. He has A 1/2 season to be the the 3rd down guy/#2 RB and put a vice lock on that spot. You want traded, then put a strong audition for the 31 other teams.
That way you have a leg to stand on production wise.
You didn’t see Higgins or calloway pulling this because OBJ was brought in.
A bad look on Duke that’s also a bad decision in how he went about it IMO.

IceKeymasterFirst off I agree that it was a bad decision by DOOOOK to take it public.
Now lets see it from his point of view; He’s suffered on this team since 2015 and has always said and done the right thing. On some really shitty teams he was a shining star and never complained. He didn’t bitch when they drafted Chubb with a high 2nd round pick and signed Hyde, so why is he complaining now? When he signed his new contract they put plenty of escalators in there that were stat based. They promised him they would get him plenty of chances with the ball but they didn’t deliver. He went from 82 attempts in 2017 to only 40 rushing attempts last season, despite the fact that he was averaging 5 yards per attempt. He had 74 receptions in 2017, down to just 47 receptions last year despite getting 9 yards per reception. 9 yards per reception is ridiculous because most of those were swing passes behind the line. His yards after contact were amazing. His blocking was good. He did everything right on the field and said everything right off the field. Then in early spring the Browns put him on the trading block. That’s when the shit hit the fan. When they were unsuccessful at getting good compensation for him, he asked to be traded publicly. I can certainly understand his frustration, this team used him and then tried to get rid of him.
And that’s NFL football. Duke is gonna get his wish sooner or later, and I hope he gets his touches because he is an awesome player. I wish he could have stayed here but we have too many horses in the stable and he made it easy to choose between them.

the dudeParticipantAnd the saga carries on with the most irrelevant running back the browns have ever had.
He can demand to be traded as much as he wants. But he isn’t worth more than a 7th round pick. He is literally a 3rd down running back on one of the worst teams ever.
His value will only go up to a 5th round pick if let’s say a team loses 2 running backs in the same game and become desperate.
Hue Jackson is a loser.

MDP Sack AttackParticipantHow does it benefit Duke to be quiet or practice with the team?
Not to sound anti-Browns, but we already tried to trade him, so the writing is on the wall that he’s out either way. If he gets hurt in practice he’s fucked. He gets no choice in where he’s traded to, but it benefits him to get there in time for camp so he hits the ground running with his new team.

IceKeymasterMake no mistake, he’ll be on the roster through week 8.
