Well in my opinion it means that, as usual, Mary K doesn’t know shit and is being her typical presumptuous self.

It’s been stated that Bitonio moving to Left Tackle would be an absolute worst case scenario/last ditch effort to fill the position.

We’re, what, 4-5 days into camp? 6 tops? Of course Bitonio was going to get a look. It’s just prudent and doing due diligence. There’s just no way that the entire offensive coaching staff, 5 days into camp and 3 practices in pads just threw their fucking arms up in the air and proclaimed “fuck it, no one is able to do this job, let’s move Joel over”.

Look, the deal is we’re replacing a fucking Hall of Famer, and not just a “regular” Hall of Famer, if there is one, I’m talkin’ a Cal-Ripken-like hands-down first ballot All-time great Hall of Famer. If there was an “Excellence Room” off the Hall of Fame, Thomas would be in it. From the moment he was drafted til the moment he retired he played every fucking snap. He made the Pro-Bowl every year. That’s not gonna get replaced. Ever.

Everyone has to get a look. No guy is “struggling” in camp on day 5. I guarantee there’s no one on this team that looks like Joe Thomas, but there’s also no one this team could bring in who wouldn’t, comparatively.

Get all your fingers off the panic buttons for fuck sakes and get a hold of yourselves. If Bitonio is playing Left Tackle in the 3rd preseason game………find me then. But when we’re 4 full-pads practices in and 2 weeks away from the first fuckin’ preseason game, Jesus Christ, quit tripping over your tampon strings on the way to the bathroom after you snuck 7 beers past your wife on a Tuesday and stop dumping your purses all over the board with the needless “I just saw a bug kill it with fire!!!!” overreaction.

And if Joel Bitonio has to go play Left Tackle, it doesn’t mean we don’t have a Left Tackle, it means Joel fucking Bitonio is the baddest motherfucker that can step in Joe Thomas’ shoes and play Left fucking Tackle.

Either way, we’re winning football games this year. Calm down.

Everytime I saw coleman play I thought he was a Bum and a turnstyle at OT. He did lead the league in holding penalties at RT. and folks thought he was the heir apparent to Joe?

Joel is this teams best offensive lineman. And the LT position requires the talents of the best offensive lineman on the team. The math isn’t tthat hard.

Heres whatthe Browns have to work with:

I’ve been thinking all offseason that all the stuff written about Coleman is a bunch of fluff. And Greg Robinson??? Hard pass. I’m kind of surprised they haven’t given Hubbard a look at LT, but not so much that I’d be upset about it.

I think, to me, this says something about Austin Corbett. It says they want him on the field. But, Joe, who never says anything bad about anybody, said FLAT OUT that Corbett is NOT a tackle in the NFL. So if he’s not a tackle, how do you get him on the field? Boom, move Joel and let Corbett play LT. Hopefully it works.

I’m with shooter, no reason to panic. I’d rather see them experiment now, than have Coleman start at LT for 8 games, then switch it up after the bye and go “why didn’t we think of that sooner?”

First off, TRUTH. Joe Thomas is the greatest warrior the NFL ever has or ever will see. There SHOULD be an Excellence room. Or it could be called the GOAT room. It should have Joe Thomas, Jerry Rice, and maybe 2 or 3 other dudes we can argue about. Joe Thomas played EVERY FUCKING SNAP and unlike most NFL stars he was STILL IMPROVING when he was forced to quit. He was having one of his best years! Even thinking about how awesome he was makes me simultaneously happy and sad. Like when I think about my dog that just died. He is not replaceable.

That said, It’s not like they tried Coleman out there for 3 plays and said fuck it let’s try someone else. He was at LT for all the mini camps and had hundreds of reps to prove he was competent at the position. Bitonio has said multiple times all throughout the summer that he doesn’t want to move to LT and that is ‘plan z’. If this were just a tiny experiment they would give him 2nd or 3rd team reps at LT. They’ve already done that. Moving him out on the 1st team is substantial. It does allow them to get their best 5 linemen on the field (Coleman is not top 5 on our team, Corbett moves up). That’s the positive. But I hate moving a pro-bowl dude to another position. Would we move Miles Garrett to DT just to fill a slot?!?

With Joe, we on average would go through 3-4 qbs a year…. I will have to start getting more familiar with the practice squad.

    Hue Jackson is a loser.
