According to Tony Grossi (who is wrong more than he is right), the Broncos offered their 2016 first rounder for Thomas. The Browns also wanted LB Shaq Barrett who would certainly be an upgrade to us, but Denver said no.
This is Tony Grossi, so this entire rumor may not be worth the toilet paper it was written on. For one moment, let’s assume it’s true.
Joe Thomas IS the Cleveland Browns. IMO he is exactly what they are talking about when they say “Play like a Brown”. He’s been to like 50 straight pro-bowls and is undisputedly the best player at his position in the sport. Still he’s a blue collar guy with an excellent work ethic and is about as far from a deva as one can be. If you’re going to trade away Joe Thomas, you need to be getting enough in return to build a franchise around. Because that’s what you’re giving up; a guy good enough to build a franchise around. A low 1st rounder and a good young LB just aren’t enough.

With the Browns, this will not happen before his career is over. He is right now at his prime, but in 2 years, he may not be the same player – still probably elite over most, but we all know age is no ones friend.
Personally, I don’t have any clue why this organization would ever even entertain and offer. For Joe Thomas the player, I think every team should make an offer.
Hue Jackson is a loser.
