14 games in:
2017 overall rank #16 vs 2016 #31. Improved by allowing 61 less yards per game.
2017 PPG #30 25.9 PPGvs. 2016 #30 28.3 PPG. Improved by 2.4 PPG. That said – 0 teams in the NFL let up more than 27.1 PPG. Last year two let up over 28 and 1 over 30. Interesting in that regards and also why the ranking didn’ change.
2017 Passing #21 overall. QB rating is a 102 against them. 2016 passing #21 overall QB rating 101 against them.
2017 26 total sacks in 14 games. 2016 26 sacks in 16 games.
2017 #7 run D vs 2016 #31 run D — here was the one actual major improvement. That said – how was it done? Selling out on the run and playing safeties 75 yards off the line which allowed QB rating to nudge upward.
Takeaways – 2017 #32 with 11. 2016 #30 with 13.
Given Myles Garrett and guys in their 2nd year who were getting over their rookie learning curve and improvement really didn’t happen except in one area – this includes 2 1st round picks going the D’s way including #1 overall in Garrett.
Horton – blew 2 14 point leads – none in Q4.
Willimas blew 1 14 point lead – it was in Q4.
3rd down conversions 40.9% in 2017 – 45.1% 2016
65.85% to 66.67% red zone scoring percentage.
Overall looking at everything – there really wasn’t any major improvement. Anyone else want to throw any stats in? Don’t know where to find QB pressures.

Agree with this, we also only got about a half year out of Garrett…
I can’t say I’m Greg Williams’ biggest fan, but I don’t think he’s the most glaring problem with our coaching staff.
