Garret comes as no surprise to anybody with a pulse.

But Njoku? I found that encouraging, as many were thinking the pick of Harrison Bryant could signal a lack of faith in Njoku.

IMO, Njoku came into the league so young, that it would be foolish to give up on him so quickly. I’m excited to see what he can do with a HC calling plays he’s practiced, and not putting him in the doghouse for undisclosed reasons.

Njoku has not been ‘bad’ nor a ‘bust’, he just hasn’t been a star, and has had availability issues.

Agreed, though the 5th year option is pretty expensive and typically pays players like they’re stars. Njoku was drafted near the end of round 1, so, not sure if that impacts his fifth year option cost and makes it lower?

It seemed though, that the previous FO considered him a bust, given how little they used him over the 2nd half of the season, after his injury healed. I think a major reason this organization has been stuck in neutral for so long is their unwillingness to let players/coaches develop and grow into their roles, so I’m pleasantly surprised the new regime isn’t just ushering Njoku out the door.

Or maybe this is a sign that Njoku was an Andrew Berry pick from the beginning???

There was never any doubt to picking up the 5th year option for Garrett. Once Stefanski was hired, I just figured we would keep Njoku, even after signing Hooper to a mega contract and then drafting a TE. When you run a majority of offensive sets with 2 TEs and sometimes even 3 then it just makes sense to have 3 of them who can make plays and aren’t just one dimensional. It will keep defenses guessing.

Just saw the Browns resigned Hollywood Higgins to a 1-year deal.

Ok, I’m all aboard the hype train.

With DPJ in the house Higgy in my mind is the 4th WR and the back up slot WR.

On the TE’s and Njoku. Ima 3 te set with aFB and RB and play action bassing to Njoku Hooper and Bryant. That will be fun to see.

Pump the brakes. No way is DPJ the number 3 til he proves it. He’s a 6th round pick for a reason. And if the FO thought that way, they probably wouldn’t have signed Higgins.

What ice. I have taken stands like this before when I see a clear athletic advantage between players before. I usually gone with the bigger stronger faster guy. If I am wrong oh well. But if I am right that will be awesome for the Browns.

Higgins is no doubt the 3rd best receiver on the team. It isn’t his fault we had an idiot for a HC last year. When the ball is throw his way, he produces.

Peoples Jones may have talent but he also drops the ball at times. Still a solid pick but I don’t expect him to see the field as a WR a lot in year one because Stefanski doesn’t utilize 3 WRs a lot and Higgins is a solid 3rd.
