The Vikings just announced they’re hiring Browns VP of football operations Kwesi Adofo-Mensah to be their next GM.

A year or 2 ago, the nfl passed a rule to encourage teams to hire and promote minorities to executive positions. Since the Browns “developed” (if that’s the right word) Adofo-Mensah, they’ll be rewarded with a 3rd round compensatory pick in this years draft and another 3rd round compensatory pick in next years draft.

That’s a pretty nice parting gift for the Browns.

That’s amazing news for us, and a great look for our front office as well. Usually we’re the ones scouting other teams for a GM, good to see the worm had turned.

I’d say it is the right word. After all there are professional develope workshops and what have you. Where one goes to get developed and develope skills and or refine them.

An extra 3rd round pick in back to back years is definitely a nice haul. The fact that you can trade these picks make them even more worthwhile.

I had the same reaction. Very cool. We also had Glenn Cook, our vice president of player personnel, get an interview with Minnesota and Chicago.

Love getting the extra picks, as well.

Hell yeah. We have a damn good organization, and clearly the league is watching.

We also had two very convincing wins over this year’s AFC champs. Better luck with injuries, patch the holes in our D line, find a #1 receiver, and we’re right back in it.
