Fa DE Jadavion Clowney for a second visit this week according to reports from multiple sources

Nothing official yet, but a lot of people are reporting a deal is expected today.

I’ll reserve judgment till I see terms, but I’m not a fan of Clowney. Though, this does make the path to a 1st round LB crystal clear.

2nd visit IMO was likely planned for when Clowney felt comfortable to do a physical on his injured knee. Hense the Browns not signing him yet.

While Clowney isn’t all world loke his draft billing would have lead you to believe. He is however IMO a massive upgrade over Oliver Vernon.

Still no word on a signing. TBH, I don’t see him as a big upgrade. He’s better against the run, but Vernon is a better pass rusher. Both have injury issues. It feels like a lateral move to me.

I don’t think it’s fair to label Clowney as having injury issues. He had surgery his rookie year and rebounded with five mostly healthy seasons where he produced at a high level. Last year he got hurt again.

He’s not Joe Thomas, but that’s a pretty average injury history.
