My personal take is it’s a mix.

Kirksey is coming off a great year and Collins is a great talent. Both suck. That screams Gregg Williams to me. We know he’s clueless on Safeties. I guess if we get the #1 overall pick every year and use it on defense Gregg Williams will be successful.

On the flipside QB guru Hue Jackson turned to shit. That said – he wanted Deshaun Watson and was given Kizer. With how he’s treated Kessler, it’s obvious to me he wanted no parts of him in the draft either. He was showing unity.

Offense is #31 in PPG scored.

Defense is #27 in PPG allowed at 26.2. (Horton, with no one on defense, finished at #30 allowing 28.3PPG).

The more I look at this, the more I see that the coaches had very little input on the roster. The guys we have are not the type of guys that would run a Hue Jackson offense, the kind he’s been successful with. And I’m 100% sure that Williams was not looking forward to a season without a single player on the roster who has ever played FS in the NFL.
