“The team announced Tuesday it entered the NFL’s enhanced COVID-19 protocols as it placed eight players on the reserve/COVID-19 list. That includes six from the active roster: wide receiver Jarvis Landry, tight end Austin Hooper, offensive tackle Jedrick Wills, guard Wyatt Teller, guard Drew Forbes, defensive end Takkarist McKinley; and wideout JoJo Natson and tight end Ross Travis from the practice squad”
That’s a huge fucking list, 5 offensive starters and a starting defensive lineman.
All tested positive, so it’s not an exposure thing either, which makes it more doubtful they can play Sunday.
December 14, 2021 at 4:50 pm #21416Dawg E. DawgParticipantThe game is Saturday, and I haven’t seen anybody this season come back in the same week after a positive covid test. They’re out. We’ll be lucky if we get Njoku back, at this point.
December 14, 2021 at 5:22 pm #21417MDP Sack AttackParticipantOof, yeah.
If it was exposure (and assuming they’re vaccinated), they’d be able to come back if they tested negative twice. But since they’ve tested positive today, they’d pretty much need to magically test negative tomorrow and again on Friday. So basically zero chance.
December 15, 2021 at 7:45 am #21418IceKeymasterI recall being required to sit for 10 days after a positive test. Is that a thing? Maybe that was just in my fantasy football league.
December 15, 2021 at 9:26 am #21419Dawg E. DawgParticipantIt’s a minimum of 10 days for players that are not vaccinated. Vaccinated players have no minimum, but they need to have 2 consecutive negative tests at least 24 hours apart.
Also, Stefanski tested positive today. Preorder will take over HC duties during the game, and Alex Van Pelt will call plays for the offense. Soup should be excited.
December 15, 2021 at 9:28 am #21421Dawg E. DawgParticipantIce, it was a minimum of 10 days last year, as there was no vaccine, and all players had the same set of rules to follow.
December 15, 2021 at 9:53 am #21422Dawg E. DawgParticipantAnd now Baker too.
December 15, 2021 at 9:57 am #21423IceKeymasterThis is ridiculous.
December 15, 2021 at 10:38 am #21424MDP Sack AttackParticipantFuck, Baker just tested positive as well.
December 15, 2021 at 11:21 am #21425Dawg E. DawgParticipantMore tested positive today:
Troy Hill
John Johnson
Malik McDowell
Ifeadi OdenigboJust in case you thought our def was wasn’t dicked as well.
That’s 11 starters on the Covid list, as of now. By my math, that’s half.
December 15, 2021 at 12:01 pm #21426MDP Sack AttackParticipantThe league just said definitively they won’t postpone the game.
December 15, 2021 at 12:43 pm #21427IceKeymasterThe league just said definitively they won’t postpone the game.
“because fuck the Browns” they said under their breath.

Yup. Can’t catch a fucking break, we were set up perfectly to take first place this week, too.
Time for the backups to step up, I guess.
December 15, 2021 at 1:11 pm #21429soupParticipantThe worst part of this is Baker out. When Stefanski tested I thought “yes, now AVP can show he’s better than Stefanski for the 2nd time and maybe they’ll finally give him the job.” Then Baker got hurt. Defense needs some key takeaways and our kicker hopefully learned how to kick. We will need one of those 40 rush attempt games eating the clock all game ala Belichick beating the Bills.
Freedom!!!
December 16, 2021 at 5:44 pm #21430MDP Sack AttackParticipantYep, lots of running Saturday. Case Keenum just tested positive.
December 17, 2021 at 10:08 am #21431IceKeymasterWas Seneca Wallace unavailable? Ken Dorsey?
I feel like this could be Tree’s heroic moment; we’re down so many players and he’s in the stands and all these hot women say “you should be down there with them. You look like an amazing football player!” And a coach overhears the hot women, takes one look at Tree, and has security escort him to the sideline. They ask him what position he plays, he replies “all of them, where do you need me”. He starts at center and pancakes 2 defenders at the same time. Then coach notices how great his shotgun snap was and they try him at QB. Browns win the game 89-0. Every pass by Tree is a touchdown. He also plays defense and has 21 sacks.
December 20, 2021 at 11:47 am #21432MDP Sack AttackParticipantSounds like postponement didn’t change much. We get Josh Johnson back, buy that’s about it. Go Nick Mullens!
December 20, 2021 at 1:16 pm #21433Dawg E. DawgParticipantPostponement also got us Wyatt Teller, Anthony Schwartz and Takk McKinley yesterday. So it did help a little.
December 20, 2021 at 2:40 pm #21434MDP Sack AttackParticipantHonestly, we’re down like 16 players and probably still doesn’t even make the top ten list of worst lineups the Browns have fielded in the past 20 years.
I’m weirdly excited for this one.
